In a grand palace on the far side of the Moon, a young girl was confined within a silent room.
This was Hinata—captured and imprisoned.
Hinata sat on the bed with her knees drawn to her chest, her arms wrapped tightly around them, her face buried between her knees as her thoughts drifted endlessly.
"My bride, why are you so downcast?" A calm, almost amused voice echoed through the room. "Is becoming my bride really so unbearable?"
Ōtsutsuki Toneri walked in slowly, dressed in a magnificent robe, his footsteps unhurried.
Hinata didn't respond. She acted as though she hadn't heard him at all.
"Heh heh…" Toneri chuckled softly. "That look on your face—are you still hoping someone will come to save you?"
He stepped closer, suddenly grabbing Hinata's arm.
"Let go!!!" Hinata glared at him coldly, her voice low and sharp with anger.
"Heh, how stubborn," Toneri said, shaking his head. "Stop struggling. You can't escape. No one will come to save you."
"Even if I die, I will never marry you," Hinata said fiercely, gritting her teeth.
A faint smile curved Toneri's lips.
"What a stubborn girl. I have plenty of time. I'm not in a hurry. I can wait—slowly—until you fall in love with me. One day, I will win you over, my bride."
Hinata closed her eyes, refusing to acknowledge him.
Seeing this, Toneri snorted lightly, turned around, and left the room.
At the same time, Kaien was teleported to the Moon.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself inside an unfamiliar building. Naruto and Sakura were nowhere to be seen.
"Random teleportation?" Kaien frowned.
For most people, random teleportation wouldn't be much of a problem—but for him, it was dangerous. He was only a Chūnin.
On top of that, he didn't know Hinata's exact location, nor did he possess Sai's tracking abilities. Finding her wouldn't be easy.
"However…" Kaien glanced around thoughtfully. "Could this be the place where my sister-in-law is being held?"
Aside from Toneri himself, who else would be living on the Moon? Even if there were multiple buildings, this one felt different.
After a brief moment of thought, Kaien decided to investigate.
Moving stealthily through the area, Kaien soon discovered numerous Ōtsutsuki puppets patrolling the surroundings.
"It really is Toneri's place," Kaien muttered. "No other location would need this many guards."
He advanced carefully, avoiding detection, circling toward the center of the palace complex. In a secluded corner, he waited patiently for the patrols to rotate.
Soon, two puppet squads passed by.
Kaien immediately leapt onto a wall, crouching low as he listened closely to the surrounding movements, carefully observing their patrol routes.
"They're focused on the northeast," he analyzed silently. "If nothing unexpected happens, my sister-in-law should be held there."
Memorizing the patterns, Kaien slipped along the edge of the complex, holding his breath.
After another patrol passed—
Swish!
Kaien jumped down from the wall.
He rushed toward a corner of the northeast area, hiding again as another team passed. After several tense repetitions, the fifth patrol finally cleared the area.
That was when Kaien saw it—the room where Hinata was being held.
"Swish!"
Kaien leapt inside without hesitation.
"Who's there?!" Hinata sensed movement and immediately raised her head.
"Kaien?!"
The moment she recognized him, her eyes lit up. She rushed forward and threw herself into his arms.
For days, Toneri had told her she could never return, that this was the Moon, and that resistance was meaningless.
Even though she ignored his words, they still weighed heavily on her heart.
Seeing Kaien now shattered that suffocating fear.
"Sister-in-law," Kaien said softly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and gently stroking her hair. "Are you alright?"
Hinata's body felt light and soft in his arms, carrying a faint, delicate fragrance.
"I'm fine, Kaien," Hinata said quietly, looking up at him. "Why are you here?"
"I promised I'd come save you," Kaien replied seriously. "Naruto and the others are here too—we just got separated."
"Naruto is here?" Joy instantly spread across Hinata's face.
She had complete faith in Naruto's strength. If he was here, she believed—without a doubt—that she would be rescued.
Meanwhile, Naruto and Sakura had reunited with Sai and the others.
"Where's Kaien?" Naruto asked, frowning. "Didn't you find him?"
"My insects haven't picked up Kaien nearby," Shino said, shaking his head.
"I can smell him," Kiba added, scowling. "But he's far away."
"Where?" Naruto asked sharply.
"There," Kiba said, pointing toward a distant palace.
Naruto and Sakura's expressions darkened.
That was clearly Ōtsutsuki Toneri's palace.
"How did Kaien get teleported there?" Sakura asked, frowning.
"No time to think about it," Naruto said, clenching his fists. "We're going to get Kaien. Hinata should be there too. We'll grab them both and leave."
"Mhm!"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Let's go!"
Naruto took off immediately toward the palace.
Despite their speed, the palace never seemed to get any closer. No matter how fast they ran, the distance remained unchanged.
"Damn it!" Kiba cursed. "Why isn't it getting closer?!"
"This won't work," Naruto said grimly. "At this rate, we'll run out of stamina before we reach it."
He turned to Sai.
Sai nodded, pulling out a scroll and unrolling it mid-run. He began drawing rapidly.
"Super Beast Scroll: Birds Between Clouds!"
Hand seals formed as a massive amount of chakra surged into the scroll.
A gigantic black-and-white bird sprang to life, flapping its wings powerfully as it soared into the air.
"Screeech—!"
Everyone exchanged glances, jumped onto the bird's back, and soared toward the palace.
BOOM!
A thunderous explosion suddenly erupted from within the palace.
Naruto's expression changed instantly.
"Something happened!"
In a flash, golden chakra erupted around him as he entered Kurama Chakra Mode, vanishing from the bird in an instant.
"I'm going ahead!" Naruto shouted. "Hurry and catch up!"
