"What work is done, Lydia?"
The voice made the designer stiffen for a beat.
She quickly lowered her phone and turned around to greet her. Her lips immediately pressed into her best smile before she greeted her.
"Ms. Klein, it's so pleasant to see you."
Celeste only looked at her. Though there was a small, perfunctory smile on her face, it was more of an innate one than a genuine reciprocation to Lydia.
"I wasn't informed that you were coming today. If I had known, I would have definitely been there to greet you first."
Celeste, standing a good inch and a half taller than Lydia, simply stared down at her.
"Such formality wasn't required for a casual visit. I simply came to check your new designs. But if you are busy, you don't personally have to assist me."
Her eyes meaningfully darted down to Lydia's phone.
The screen was still on, and she could read the name flashing across it.
And that name … made her pause for a second before she looked up at Lydia again.
