MADDOX's POV
The door hit the wall with a loud bang, the sound reverberating around the room.
My heart was still beating incessantly in my chest as I increased my strides, barging into the room.
Immediately I did, I regretted it.
''What the fuck?!'' Vivienne's eyes was wide as saucers, riddled with fear and a tinge of smeared tears over her cheeks.
Her body was trembling, her hand tight around the towel around her chest, her stance guarded.
''I—'' My words hung in my throat, my jaws ticking as I opened and closed my mouth, unable to form a word.
''Maddox?'' Her fingers tightened over the knot on her towel one again, her eye flaring red.
''Why the fuck would you do that?! I thought—I thought—'' She choked on her words, her voice shaky and I couldn't help the guilt that passed through my chest.
My heart ached at the distress I had just caused her.
Of course she would think one of the rogues had come up.
