The words hit me like a freight train, freezing my steps.
Vivienne?
The rogues at the boarder were all there for Vivienne?
My heart hammered against my chest, i knew Gideon and his informat could hear it clearly.
Scrap the peace treaty.
If Gideon's informat was right, then Vivienne was in danger.
My breath caught, the wolfbane in my system freezing.
''Quickly!'' Gideon's commanded voice bloomed and the sound of footsteps drumming against marble followed.
My heart hammered violently against my ribs. Not because I was about to get caught.
But because getting caught and fighting now would be pointless.
Vivienne needed me.
I lunged backward, slipping into the pitch-black space of a storage closet just as the study door flew open.
"There's glass on the floor, Alpha!" Gideon's informat roared, his voice vibrating in the small room.
I heaved, holding my breath.
Through the opening in the door, I watched the informat drop to his knees and squint.
