Chapter 62: Am I the Red Comet?!
The Place of Time and Space, the Eternal Latitude.
"Roar..."
At this moment, Jon felt as if he had been thrown into magma. The intense smell of sulfur and burning filled his consciousness, giving him the illusion that he was about to burst.
Jon felt like a balloon, and one that was about to be over-inflated at that. He desperately wanted to release the power within his body.
However, the violent power within Jon's body had already muddled his consciousness, leaving him unable to find a way to control his body.
Thus, Jon could only wait helplessly for this terrifying power to completely tear him apart.
Just then, a familiar sensation suddenly surged into Jon's mind. That cool feeling quickly allowed Jon to gain control over his current body.
Guided by this cool power, the incredibly violent energies began to move toward Jon's limbs and bones. The first change occurred in his head.
Jon first felt a burning sensation in his facial features, then he felt his entire skull begin to expand. His upper and lower jaws gradually lengthened, and his teeth began to sharpen bit by bit.
This sensation was extremely clear, as if it were Jon's own body changing. Yet, Jon remembered very clearly that before entering the Dragonpit of , he had been using the body of Winterfell's Captain of the Guard, .
Even if his soul had left that area for some reason afterward, he shouldn't have felt such clear physical changes.
Despite Jon's thoughts, his body continued to transform. During this period of his apotheosis, his head had completely turned into a massive dragon's head.
Purple and blood-colored scales blended perfectly here, adding a hint of slaughter to his nobility. His golden eyes seemed capable of breaking through the constraints of time and space.
With the appearance of these scales, Jon's body also began to transform inch by inch into the form of a dragon. His neck lengthened bit by bit; the current long, slender neck made Jon look very strange.
Then came the body, limbs, dragon tail, and wings. When Jon's massive body appeared in this void, much of the energy that had nearly burst his body seemed to have been consumed.
However, this did not mean that Jon's body had fully absorbed these powers, as they continued to pour into him incessantly.
"Roar..."
Soon, Jon, who had completely transformed into a massive demon dragon, let out a roar of agony, for that sensation had descended upon him once more.
His blood churned under the influence of those powers, as if magma were flowing beneath. Whether it was an illusion or not, Jon seemed to smell that burnt scent again.
The continuous influx of power into Jon's body made him experience that terrifying feeling of bursting once more. Scales as hard as diamonds could no longer suppress that power.
"Pfft... Sizzle..."
Due to the constant churning of those terrifying forces, cracks appeared on Jon's demon dragon form. As these cracks burst open, countless streams of dragon blood, like magma, flowed from Jon's body.
"Hum..."
Just as Jon felt the sensation of his entire body being about to explode again, a black crystal abruptly appeared before his eyes.
Based on the strange aura of power emanating from it, Jon knew this was the Magic Stone he had been using recently—the crystal that had sealed the Demon King in the game.
"Roar... Hahaha... Hehehe..."
The appearance of the Magic Stone provided an outlet for the violent power around Jon's body; it began to surge frantically toward the stone.
When a certain powerful consciousness that had been sealed within the Magic Stone was awakened, a terrifying soul, nearly equal to Jon's current demon dragon body, appeared in the void.
"I am resurrected once more... I... Argh! It's too much... Argh!"
"Boom..."
"I... I will remember you... Dammit..."
...This experience of extreme joy turning into extreme sorrow left the creature known as the Demon King extremely displeased. After leaving behind a line typical of a villain, he disappeared from the area like a meteor.
Only then did Jon realize that his current body had been flying involuntarily. His four pairs of massive wings could leave trails in the void with a simple stroke.
"Crack... Crack..."
With the disappearance of that powerful consciousness inside the Magic Stone, the obsidian-like rhombohedral crystal began to show cracks.
At that moment, a certain power within Jon's body suddenly appeared and directly pulled in the nearly shattered Magic Stone.
With the disappearance of the Magic Stone, that terrifying power returned to Jon's body, causing cracks to reappear on his barely recovered form.
"Roar..."
Although Jon's demon dragon body was powerful, the power within him was even stronger. Without the Magic Stone to absorb it, his magma-like red blood began to scatter into the surroundings once more.
Jon didn't know how much blood a dragon had, but he knew very clearly that if this continued, he would truly disappear completely from this area.
Jon finally realized that the cool energy that had been helping him inside his body was the power of the System.
While Jon was considering what other items he could use, a rhombohedral crystal appeared before him once again.
This rhombohedral crystal was different from the Magic Stone; it appeared golden and seemed to contain an image familiar to Jon.
After thinking carefully, Jon realized this fellow was the Being of Light who had blocked him in the Misty Area.
"The Father reached his hand into the heavens, plucked seven holy stars, and placed them one by one..."
Amidst the chanting of hymns, a giant Being of Light appeared before Jon.
"In the name of the Stranger, I... Argh... Argh... What is this thing..."
Under the impact of Jon's power, this incredibly powerful consciousness also let out a shrill scream.
"In the name of the Light of Redemption, I shall..."
"In the name of the Earth Mother..."
"By the Seven..."
...The first voice to appear indeed belonged to , but with the emergence of even more powerful consciousnesses, the seven-as-one power seemed to be stripped away by something.
Subsequently, one majestic voice after another appeared around Jon, but without exception, these fellows were all burst by the power surging from Jon's body.
The consciousnesses within the holy stone came and went mysteriously. It seemed this item was also something the System had prepared for Jon's use; after stripping away certain powers, it was also stored away.
"Roar..."
Just as Jon thought this power was reaching its limit, that familiar sense of pain appeared in his body once more.
Whether this power was a gift from those beings or a punishment, Jon had no idea. He only knew that if nothing else came out to bear the burden, he would likely explode again.
Jon, who was almost numb with pain, could not even faint, because the System's power frequently released that cool energy to help "refresh" him.
This feeling of being unable to die yet unable to live was extremely miserable for Jon. However, the System soon tossed out another object.
Looking at the somewhat familiar Sealing Stone before him, Jon suddenly had a feeling that someone was about to have very bad luck.
"Hum... Hum..."
As if in response to Jon's schadenfreude, the Sealing Stone, which contained a portion of the power of the , immediately erupted with an extremely dazzling light.
Then, the power on Jon's body once again surged into the Sealing Stone. Under the influence of this power, a slime-like monster began to grow larger bit by bit.
"Hiss... A capital crime... Hiss..."
This fellow's consciousness seemed to be in a somewhat ignorant state, but before it could finish its threat, it was directly filled to the brim by Jon's power.
"Hiss hiss hiss..."
After leaving behind a string of inexplicable and strange words, the Many-Faced God's shattered body and consciousness fell directly into the area below.
(Did the System foresee this step, which is why it had me provoke the Many-Faced God?)
Since the sharp pain had not yet returned, such a guess flashed through Jon's mind.
After bursting the Many-Faced God, Jon's body finally felt much more comfortable. That terrifying power no longer seemed as violent as it was at the beginning.
Jon finally had time to understand his surroundings. Although his status panel still showed he was bleeding, that power could no longer leave his body drenched in blood.
Red Waste — Funeral Pyre
"I am Daenerys Stormborn, and I swear to you, I am the Daughter of the Dragon. I swear to you, those who harmed you will die screaming!"
Though her heart was filled with grief, the haggard still spoke her oath loudly.
"Only death can pay for life!"
As she spoke those words, , who had taken everything from Daenerys, was tied to the funeral pyre.
As the flames continued to burn, the maegi, who had already accepted her death, let out a series of shrill wails.
Daenerys, however, showed no fear. After glancing at , she walked into the fire on her own.
"Roar..."
In a void invisible to all of them, Jon charged toward the flames like a falling star...
