Chapter 61 - Chapter 61: The Stars Are in Position

Chapter 61: The Stars Are in Position

King's Landing, the ruins of the Dragonpit

"Shut up!"

Inside the empty Black Stone Prison, Jon, whose head was spinning from the noise, shouted directly. His voice was like thunder, instantly driving all other sounds out of the area.

As those sounds vanished, Jon finally had time to examine this Black Stone Prison. The whispers from just now had been extremely uncomfortable; if not for the protection of the Summoner's Badge, his body—which belonged to Jory Cassel—might have been directly controlled.

Clack...

Just then, Jon's foot stepped on something hard. Accompanied by the sound of something shattering, Jon used the whale-oil lamp to see the corpses on the ground that had been rotting for a long time.

From the farming tools and clothing scattered around the bodies, it was clear that most of the skeletons and mummified remains lying on the floor likely belonged to the commoner class.

However, this wasn't absolute, as Jon also saw several corpses wearing knightly plate armor near the Black Stone Pillars.

If it weren't for the bursts of tri-colored light constantly battering the Black Stone Pillars, Jon probably would have walked over to take a closer look already.

(If this damn thing gets released, it won't wipe me out along with it, will it?)

After confirming that his mission was to destroy the statues of the Seven-Who-Are-One, Jon couldn't help but complain silently in his heart.

The mission was worth 10,000 points of Soul Energy. It was impossible for Jon not to be tempted. Besides, nothing like divine possession had ever happened in this world.

So, after much consideration, Jon decided to proceed with the mission. He directly ordered the remaining two Giant Poison Spiders to charge forward.

Boom boom... Hiss hiss...

The Giant Poison Spiders first attacked the crystal idol representing the Stranger, even though the crystal idol looked quite fragile.

However, under the violent attacks of the Giant Poison Spiders, not a single crack appeared on the crystal idol, as if something was protecting it from all sides.

"Dig!"

Boom boom... Crack...

Seeing that a direct assault wasn't working, Jon didn't choose to attack the other idols. Instead, he ordered the Giant Poison Spiders to dig tunnels.

Jon's idea was simple: although the idols were extremely hard, it didn't mean their foundations were equally resilient. He wondered if destroying the foundations beneath the idols would lead to the destruction of the entire formation.

Under the continuous attacks of the Giant Poison Spiders, the black stone beneath the crystal idols emitted bursts of tooth-grating grinding sounds.

The strength of the Giant Poison Spiders was truly immense. Under the action of their terrifying bony claws, a huge tunnel over two meters high appeared before Jon.

Jon had experimented while they were digging; the black stone foundations here were very difficult to break. Only a Valyrian steel sword could easily slice through them; the ordinary dagger at Jon's waist had no effect at all.

The Giant Poison Spiders, however, were different. It seemed they secreted a strange digestive fluid while digging tunnels that could soften the black stone foundation, allowing them to easily break through this iron-hard black stone.

The Giant Poison Spiders had used this ability when attacking the crystal idols earlier, but the idols hadn't reacted at all. Or rather, the strange force field surrounding them had neutralized the damage from the digestive fluid.

"Begin!"

Hiss hiss...

Following Jon's command, the Giant Poison Spiders attacked the foundation beneath the crystal statue. Under the effect of their strange digestive fluid, cracks began to appear under the statue of the Stranger.

Hiss...

Crack...

Accompanied by the excited hissing of the Giant Poison Spiders, the base of the crystal idol, which had remained motionless until now, finally showed a series of cracks.

Rumble...

After holding out for a few seconds, the crystal idol finally couldn't withstand the assault and fell directly into the huge hole dug out beneath it.

As the statue of the Stranger vanished, the massive cage in this area began to shatter inch by inch, like a row of falling dominoes.

The idols that had been glowing with a faint seven-colored light vanished completely as they collapsed. The tri-colored energy that had been battering the Black Stone Prison was the first to break free.

Boom... Whoosh...

As the Black Stone Prison crumbled, a terrifying current of air began to surge outward from the center. Jon, located at the center of this current, remained standing firm.

The two Giant Poison Spiders around Jon were trembling under the pressure of this terrifying air current. As magical creatures, they were extremely sensitive to the presence of such powerful beings.

They, who were normally fearless, could only shiver beside Jon under this terrifying pressure that transcended dimensions. At this moment, the Giant Poison Spiders seemed to recall the fear of being dominated by a Demon King.

Jon, at the center of the air current, was also somewhat afraid. Because of the Dragon Lord's sensitive perception, he could clearly feel the gaze of countless eyes upon him.

Pain, sorrow, power, weakness, pleasure, evil... these strange emotions all poured clearly into his mind the moment he felt the gaze.

However, these gazes soon left Jon's body and began to surge toward the passage he had come from. Somehow, Jon's soul seemed to be affected by these forces and began to drift toward the passage involuntarily.

In the place where Jon had discarded his torch, there was a hazy mist. When he came in, Jon hadn't felt much, only that the air felt a bit heavy when passing through that area.

But now, when Jon's soul reached this area, he was surprised to find that there was actually nothing behind this mist.

This misty area seemed to be distorted by some kind of power, and at this moment, those powerful consciousnesses had stopped here.

The powerful tri-colored energy was constantly attacking the mist. Under the bombardment of its immense power, the mist seemed unable to hold on.

Boom... Buzz buzz...

Just then, bursts of dazzling golden light appeared directly within the mist. Within the light and shadows produced by this golden glow, a humanoid figure of light was gradually taking shape.

"Begone... Evil..."

High-pitched and sonorous words echoed through the area, making Jon's soul tremble. Just as Jon didn't know what to do...

The entities on Jon's side all began to move. Their surrounding aura suddenly shifted, exploding with an even more powerful pressure.

Buzz buzz buzz... Rumble...

Countless strands of incredibly powerful force entangled in this area. Only now did Jon realize with surprise that this area wasn't beneath the Dragonpit at all.

Or rather, from the moment Jon's torch went out, he had already passed through that misty zone and gone to that strange Black Stone Prison.

The battle between these entities didn't seem to be in this dimension, yet Jon's sharp perception could sense every sliver of the terrifying fluctuations.

In that region, countless stars were used as weapons by these beings. They carried these dazzling spheres of light and fought under that starry sky.

It was a battle between light and darkness, between the past and the future. Jon didn't know how much time had passed, or if it had only been a single breath.

Rumble...

Crack...

Grand explosions and sounds similar to glass shattering appeared in Jon's perception time and time again.

These things felt as if they were happening right in front of Jon, yet it also felt as if he hadn't experienced them at all.

However, this dreamlike reality soon vanished. Under the pull of those beings, Jon rose into the sky like a rocket.

From here, Jon saw the continent of Westeros growing smaller and smaller. Immediately after, the massive continents of Essos and Sothoryos appeared before him.

At this moment, the continents looked like a giant sandbox. For a moment, Jon felt that with a gentle flick of his finger, he could manipulate these continents at will.

When Jon turned his gaze toward the beings that had brought him here, he was surprised to find that they had completely merged into the endless starry sky.

In Jon's Blue Star worldview and understanding of the cosmos, the universe was a collection of time and space. His education from childhood told him the universe was composed of countless galaxies and celestial phenomena.

But now, everything Jon saw completely overturned his previous knowledge. He discovered that the stars in this universe were actually individual tangible or intangible existences—or rather, collectives.

These beings were now like fish entering the sea, roaming joyfully and freely through the starry universe. Perhaps from the very beginning, they had always belonged here.

It was only due to some special reason that they had been bound together in the world Jon inhabited.

And now, with Jon's help, they had returned once more to the starry sky, back to their place of birth.

"The stars are in position, the gods have returned!"... Jon, situated in a special dimension, heard these whispered murmurs over and over, and endless joy welled up in his heart.

"We call upon the Star of Blood; it shall bring hope and salvation..."

"We call upon..."

"We..."

...Just then, Jon, who was still roaming in that dimension, felt as if he had received some kind of summons.

Immediately after, a powerful pulling force dragged him directly out of that dimension.

Roar...

Under the pull of that strange power, Jon's body began to expand uncontrollably...
