Aunt May looked at Chen Ye and thought he was the most normal person in the restaurant.
Just as she was about to ask him about work, Peter Parker, sitting nearby, curiously asked, "Are you guys superheroes? That's so cool!"
Peter Parker had noticed Deadpool's bizarre costume and Wanda's glowing red eyes the moment they walked in. Instead of being scared, his youthful curiosity was piqued.
Everyone froze at Peter Parker's question, surprised that the child would ask such a thing.
Aunt May quickly covered Little Parker's mouth and gave Chen Ye and the others an awkward smile. "He's just a kid, he doesn't know any better. I'm so sorry."
Deadpool suddenly stood up, strode over to Peter Parker, and struck a heroic pose.
"That's right! Not bad, kid! You've got good eyes! This badass is none other than the greatest superhero around—Deadpool!"
Deadpool clearly took a liking to Little Parker, speaking with unshakeable confidence.
Chen Ye immediately pulled Deadpool aside and said to Little Parker, "We're not superheroes. We're just ordinary people."
Chen Ye had no desire to become a superhero. After all, being a superhero meant attracting a whole lot of super-sized trouble.
Little Parker stared at Chen Ye, who looked like an ordinary person, and couldn't understand why an ordinary man would be the boss here.
The boss wasn't the handsome superhero Deadpool standing right in front of him.
Chen Ye smiled at Little Parker, who hadn't yet become Spider-Man, his eyes holding an indescribable depth. "The life of a superhero isn't as glamorous as people imagine. Sometimes, being an ordinary person and living a normal life is its own kind of happiness."
Chen Ye's words instantly caused Little Parker's opinion of him to plummet.
Little Parker strongly disagreed. After all, every little boy dreams of becoming a superhero.
He straightened his chest and declared firmly, "I don't want to live an ordinary life! I'm going to become a superhero!"
Wanda watched Little Parker with amusement, her mind wandering to parallel universes. *Could this be this universe's Spider-Man?*
Chen Ye shook his head. Little Parker was still too young. Still, with no Uncle Ben to sacrifice in this universe, it looked like Aunt May would have to do.
He glanced at Aunt May beside him, a hint of pity in his eyes.
Deadpool noticed this and unexpectedly stepped forward to pat Little Parker on the shoulder.
His eyes twinkled with mischief. "Kid, I've got my eye on you. If you're willing, I can teach you how to become a real superhero anytime."
Then, he pulled out a bouquet of roses and turned to Aunt May, who looked flustered. "I don't know if you're single, Ms. May, but it doesn't matter. If you're willing, I'm willing to raise this kid with you!"
After being healed by the Horse Talisman, Deadpool looked surprisingly handsome. Aunt May's face flushed crimson at his bold proposal.
The moment Deadpool finished speaking, Little Parker, who had been idolizing him as a superhero, instantly blocked Aunt May.
His voice trembled with anger and disappointment. "Let's go, Aunt May. These people aren't good!"
With that, he tried to pull Aunt May away.
Chen Ye watched his potential server about to be snatched away by Deadpool again.
He swiftly kicked Deadpool aside and stepped forward to Aunt May. "We provide free room and board for our staff here!"
Chen Ye quickly pulled Old Ma and John Wick over, pointing at them. "These two are our tenants and staff. Most of us here are just ordinary people like me. That guy earlier was just an anomaly." Aunt May froze mid-step at Chen Ye's offer of room and board. The conditions were indeed tempting, especially since she'd come to Hell's Kitchen precisely because she had no money.
Still, Aunt May eyed Chen Ye with suspicion and wariness. "Room and board? Why would a server get such good treatment?"
*I'm not exactly plain,* she thought. *Could this man be interested in me?*
Wanda, standing nearby, felt a pang of jealousy. She glanced down at herself, then at Aunt May, and suddenly realized the stark difference between them. Her gaze shifted back to Chen Ye, and she began to doubt his true motives.
Sensing their misunderstanding, Chen Ye quickly explained, "We're genuinely short on servers right now. Our staff often needs to run errands, so we can't always keep the shop staffed."
"All our employees get room and board. Besides, I can see it's tough for a woman with a child. Don't worry, I'm not the kind of person you're thinking of."
"I guessed you came to Hell's Kitchen because of the school here, didn't you?"
Aunt May nodded at Chen Ye's explanation. "That's right. I heard the school here is about to open and it's free. I wanted to enroll Parker."
Chen Ye smiled. "I'm the founder of this school, so don't worry. Besides, it's not far from here. You can visit Little Parker whenever you have time."
Aunt May looked surprised. She never imagined Chen Ye was the founder of the school.
"I'll stay!" Aunt May said, her worries gone. After all, a man capable of founding a school could have any woman he wanted. He wouldn't be interested in an old woman like her.
Chen Ye nodded and instructed Pietro, "Take them upstairs to pick a room and tell them what they need to do."
He watched as Pietro, Aunt May, and a wary Little Parker headed for the elevator. Deadpool, ever the eager sycophant, trailed behind them.
"Alright, we lost some time. While I'm gone, make sure you all handle your tasks properly." Chen Ye began assigning duties to the group.
An hour later,
Having finished giving instructions, Chen Ye hurried upstairs to pack his things and prepare to leave.
The others gradually left the restaurant, but Wanda lingered behind.
Watching Chen Ye busily preparing his things, she felt both worried and helpless.
When Chen Ye finished packing and came downstairs, he saw Wanda still there and knew what she was thinking.
He walked up to her and gently patted her shoulder. "I'll be back soon, don't worry. I'm leaving Hell's Kitchen in your care."
Wanda looked at him, her eyes filled with concern and reluctance.
She knew that Chen Ye's departure might mean danger and challenges, but she also knew he had to go.
She nodded silently, saying nothing more, and simply watched him leave.
Suddenly, a massive golden ring of light materialized behind Chen Ye, instantly enveloping everything around them.
Wanda watched in astonishment as Chen Ye stepped through the ring and vanished from her sight.
