Seeing the God of War Ares instantly slain, Zeus's fury burned. Ignoring the pleas of his fellow gods, he immediately summoned his prized divine beast, the Nine-Headed Hydra, hoping to use one monster to fight another.
The two mythic-level behemoths clashed violently.
Amidst lightning and smoke, the equally massive Hydra clamped its jaws onto Godzilla's arm.
But Godzilla's hide was truly formidable, and his reflexes were lightning-fast. He swiftly seized the Hydra's neck, and with a powerful twist, tore off its head.
Yet the severed neck split, and two new heads sprouted in their place.
Godzilla unleashed his Atomic Breath, vaporizing the Hydra's two heads, but four more heads grew in their place.
The Hydra, a colossal serpentine beast, had the signature ability to grow an endless supply of heads—its signature move. The more it fought, the more heads it sprouted, until nine heads had grown, at which point the number finally stabilized.
(This is the origin of the Hydra's battle cry.)
While the two titans battled, Zeus, abandoning all sense of honor, launched lightning strikes from the sidelines to assist.
Enraged by the relentless onslaught, Godzilla, unable to bear it any longer, lunged at the Hydra. His claws dug deep into the creature's flesh, driving it relentlessly toward Mount Olympus.
With a thunderous crash, even the sturdy mountain couldn't withstand the force. The entire peak collapsed, taking the Pantheon at its summit down with it.
The gods of Olympus were instantly buried beneath the rubble. Only Zeus, drawing upon his immense divine power, managed to claw his way out of the wreckage.
The other Greek Gods perished, their divine status vanishing into nothingness.
For the first time in his life, Zeus found himself fighting alone against the monstrous threat. He hurled his lightning spear at Godzilla, showering the beast in dazzling sparks, but the attack failed to inflict any fatal wounds.
The surviving humans no longer saw Zeus as their protector.
Stripped of the gods' support and the faith of humanity, Zeus found himself utterly alone. He threw caution to the wind, engaging in a desperate battle to the death with Godzilla.
Just as Godzilla's massive foot was about to crush him, Zeus unleashed the accumulated divine power of millennia of mortal worship.
Massive bolts of lightning erupted from his body, coalescing into a torrent of thunder that enveloped Godzilla in layers of energy. With a final, earth-shattering force, the beast was sealed deep within the earth.
Having finally exhausted all his divine power, the King of the Gods, Zeus, transformed into an ordinary, frail old man.
Thus, the era of the Greek Gods came to an end.
After falling from his divine throne, Zeus finally gained true enlightenment. Dragging his emaciated body, he wandered the mortal world, hiding in human cities to experience the suffering of mortals.
It was a feeling of utter insignificance, helplessness, and overwhelming pain and sorrow.
After countless years, Zeus settled in Ancient Pompeii. Having experienced the hardships of mortals, he deeply regretted his life, vowing in his heart that if he ever regained his divine power, he would never again fail the mortals.
Alas, his luck ran out, and he never lived to see that day.
Just as Zeus resolved to live as a human once more, Mount Vesuvius near Ancient Pompeii erupted without warning.
Even the Evil God Loki, who had traveled through time and space to this era, and Mobius, an agent of the Time Variance Authority, were unaware of the true cause of the volcanic eruption.
Only Zeus knew the truth.
The Godzilla he had sealed away years ago by exhausting his divine power had now broken free from its seal, indirectly triggering the dormant volcano.
The instant lava erupted, Loki and Mobius used their instruments to escape the city, which was on the verge of facing apocalyptic disaster.
Zeus had nowhere left to run. Stripped of his divine power, he was nothing more than a frail old man, too slow to act, too weak to do anything.
Godzilla roared as it emerged from the volcano. Its blinding Atomic Breath illuminated the heavens, while billowing smoke and molten lava surged forth, instantly engulfing the entire city.
The once-mighty king of the gods died ignominiously, suffocated by volcanic ash and scorched by the heat.
Big G hadn't intentionally killed Zeus. Who could have imagined that the king of the gods would prove so pathetic?
It wasn't that Zeus was inherently weak, but that Godzilla had been far too powerful in the past.
Moreover, Zeus's seal remained intact, which was also why Godzilla's current strength paled in comparison to its former might.
No wonder Godzilla could defeat King Ghidorah over a hundred million years ago, yet was on the defensive in *Godzilla: King of the Monsters*.
Keep in mind that King Ghidorah had been frozen in Antarctica the entire time, while Godzilla had been continuously absorbing energy and evolving.
Now, with the fall of the Greek Gods, everything made sense.
No wonder Atlantis now worships Godzilla but rarely the Sea God. It turns out Big G had already killed Poseidon long ago.
A dead god is indeed unworthy of worship.
What could Han Shaoqing say? He could only think, "As expected of my Big Brother!"
With a thought, in the blink of an eye, he donned the Zeus Armor and immediately felt a surge of divine power.
Though both belonged to the Greek pantheon, the DC Universe's lore was generally more robust than Marvel's. Thus, the Zeus Armor was exceptionally powerful. Combined with the Big G's physique that Han Shaoqing had acquired through Great Red, he could perfectly channel the armor's power, instantly elevating him to Skyfather-level strength.
In fact, he surpassed even that, at least far surpassing the aged Odin.
Without the Infinity Stones, Han Shaoqing could easily teach the Purple Potato Man a lesson, full of confidence.
Of course, Skyfather-level strength was still insufficient in the Marvel Universe. Above that lay single-universe, multiverse, hyperverse, and omniversal levels of power.
The higher one ascended, the greater the gap.
Han Shaoqing's rapid ascent from ordinary human to Skyfather-level being in just a few months was entirely thanks to the Check-In System. Without it, such a feat would have been impossible.
How to achieve higher levels of power would be a concern for later. For now, he needed to deal with Apocalypse first.
Han Shaoqing's plan was simple: use Apocalypse and then discard him.
Now that he had finished checking in, Apocalypse was no longer useful to Han Shaoqing and would only be a liability if left alive.
While Apocalypse was weakened and hadn't regained consciousness, killing him would be easy. Though not exactly honorable, Han Shaoqing wasn't a battle-crazed maniac. He preferred to keep things simple and chose the easiest path.
Gathering energy, blue lightning surged across Han Shaoqing's body. He opened his mouth and unleashed a massive beam of light—Godzilla's signature move: the Atomic Breath!
Apocalypse was powerful. If fully restored, he could have at least retreated safely, even if he couldn't defeat Han Shaoqing.
But now, he was merely an unconscious body in his most vulnerable state. How could he possibly withstand such a devastating attack?
Though Apocalypse's body possessed self-healing factors, even those had limits. In an instant, he turned to dust.
Still wary, Han Shaoqing fired two more Atomic Breaths, ensuring Apocalypse was completely annihilated—not a trace of his body or spirit remained. Only then did he leave with confidence.
