I slowly opened my eyes, but I immediately regretted it. The light in the room felt far too bright, and for a second, the entire ceiling seemed to spin in a slow circle. I waited for my vision to settle down and for the world to stop moving. As the room finally became still, I realized where I was. I was in Lily's bedroom. I could tell by the familiar scent of her perfume that always lingered in the air and the feel of her soft, expensive sheets against my skin.
I looked across the room and saw her. Lily was sitting on the small couch that faced the bed. She had a drink in her hand and was leaning back, watching me with a look on her face that I could not read. She didn't look angry, but she didn't look happy to see me awake either.
