True to his word, Zev didn't go to the factory the next day. I wish I could have enjoyed his company more, but my sickness hung on. I spent most of the day in bed, with Zev working quietly beside me on his laptop. Even though I felt like death, it was comforting to have my alpha by my side.
He was worried. That came through loud and clear. Alphas liked to control things, but his concern felt like more than that. He was warm and tender with me, making sure I drank plenty of fluids and ate some broth. I was embarrassed I'd fallen sick during our trip. I couldn't help being ill, but I also couldn't help feeling like a stick in the mud. But he continually reassured me it wasn't my fault.
The morning we were supposed to leave, I was still struggling with nausea off and on. Zev considered driving me home instead of flying, but ultimately decided flying was so much faster, in the long run, that it would be best.
