He gave a sharp shake of his head. "Don't play with me, Zev." His eyes bore into mine so sharply for a moment that I could almost feel the burn in them.
It almost felt like hate, and I understood him. Were it in his place, I am sure I would have felt hell of a lot worse. But I am Zevran. This is what I do when I can't communicate my feelings like a normal alpha. Fuck up everything.
I groaned and rubbed my face. "You must be able to tell how much I want you, Asa."
He hesitated. "I know you find me… attractive."
I laughed humorlessly. "Come on, Asa, it's a little bit more obsessive than that. I know you can feel my need. I'm… I… you make me…" I swallowed hard, at a loss for words.
He didn't speak, but his face looked slightly softer.
