Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: A Top Student

Charles and Kate Beckinsale arrived in the city and first found a restaurant for dinner.

"You've been filming for more than ten days, how do you feel?"

Charles took a sip of red wine, then asked the English Lady.

"It's very interesting," Kate Beckinsale said with a slight smile, without much thought.

"I've never filmed this type of movie before, it's a very novel experience. For action scenes, I have a dance background, so training has been quite satisfactory."

Charles asked another question.

"I heard you dropped out of Oxford University to act," he asked, somewhat confused.

"Is it the Oxford I know in London?"

Kate Beckinsale smiled, then nodded and said, "It is that Oxford. I was studying French and Russian literature at the time. One reason I entered the entertainment industry is because I like this line of work, and another is that the income in the entertainment industry is high!"

It was a very pertinent answer. The entertainment industry indeed has a great appeal to young people. Although Hollywood is full of illiterates, Charles himself, with a proper high school diploma, could beat many people. But Hollywood also has a few people from top universities!

Matt Damon, I heard, dropped out of Harvard University, and Natalie Portman is still studying and acting at Harvard University, she hasn't dropped out.

Sharl shrugged and said with a smile, "You know, most people in Hollywood aren't very educated. Someone like me, who graduated high school, is pretty good!"

Kate Beckinsale is a true high-achiever!

"Charles, actually, it shouldn't be difficult for you to go to university now, and your current achievements have already surpassed countless young people," a twenty-year-old millionaire is truly uncommon in the american. This guy definitely built his fortune from scratch.

Charles shook his head. He had studied for too long in his previous life, and that diligent studiousness was not comparable to the happy learning methods of most americans.

Kate Beckinsale didn't dwell on this topic either; after all, she had studied at Oxford University for three years.

Her IQ was not low. Moreover, regarding Charles, Kate Beckinsale couldn't quite see through him; he gave off a very profound feeling.

However, for Charles, he also couldn't understand why people from Harvard, Oxford, or Yale would enter the entertainment industry.

"The entertainment industry is an interesting place!" Charles hadn't seen it so clearly before, but now, due to his status and wealth, he was slowly beginning to grasp the true nature of the entertainment industry.

"Everything has a clear price tag, moral constraints are almost non-existent, and profit is king, these?" Kate Beckinsale said with a smile.

"Anyway, everyone gets what they need," Charles said, shaking his head. Kate Beckinsale was indeed not like the typical naive female celebrity; she saw things clearly.

Kate Beckinsale, of course, knew that Charles had only been at the set for three days, and already pretty Young Ladies from the crew were looking for opportunities to show him favor, which was a very normal phenomenon.

However, did they really think he was only twenty years old? Charles wasn't that he didn't like women, he just wasn't interested in those women.

Moreover, Charles didn't want to waste time on these matters or get into any trouble right now.

That night, instead of returning to the hotel where the crew was staying, the two checked into the Hilton Hotel in the city center.

Going out for dinner together, a man and a woman alone, for Charles, Kate Beckinsale, a beauty who combined classical and modern, also fit his aesthetic.

In the bathroom, Charles held Kate as they lay in the warm bathtub. The average daytime temperature in Budapest was only in the low twenties, and around fifteen degrees at night.

A hot bath was still very comfortable for relaxation. Charles, who had his eyes closed, suddenly opened them and looked at Kate Beckinsale in his arms.

It seemed that Kate Beckinsale's husband was the director of the underworld film series, which should be Len Wiseman!

"Kate, what do you think of the director?" Charles suddenly asked. He wondered if Len Wiseman and she had started dating yet?

"Wiseman?" The Lady, leaning in Sharl's arms, thought for a moment and said,

"He's talented. A director under 30 is pretty good. We've chatted a few times before, and I seem to have a good feeling about him!"

Charles understood. He probably came here too early, otherwise, if he had given them more time, the two would have gotten together.

Charles didn't know much about Kate Beckinsale's news in his previous life, just a few movies and seemingly a preference for young, attractive men, maybe.

"Let's get some rest early. You can wander around the city these two days, consider it a break," Charles said.

This weekend was fulfilling and satisfying!

When the crew started work on Monday, Kate Beckinsale and Charles appearing together didn't cause any discussion.

The relationships among crew members were already very complicated. They warmed up to each other during filming and went their separate ways after filming ended, which was too normal.

In the screenwriting office, Charles accidentally discovered a game background introduction and a short story called 'Love of the Monster' about White Wolf Game Company.

After reading it, Charles frowned. The underworld script borrowed too much, wouldn't it be sued later?

That evening, Charles called Len Wiseman and the set manager, Henry Winster, to discuss.

"Take a look. Our script has borrowed many settings from this game company's game background and the short story 'Love of the Monster' by writer Nancy Collins. It's best to resolve this issue in advance!"

Len Wiseman was also one of the screenwriters. After listening, he was stunned, "Is it serious?"

Henry, with some experience, said, "It's hard to say. Our movie hasn't been released yet, so not many people know about it. If it's publicized, White Wolf Game Company and Nancy Collins have the right to sue us for infringement."

Charles tapped the table, "Henry, contact our people in Los Angeles to find White Wolf Game Company and the writer Nancy Collins. Talk to them. Just have them authorize the settings used in the script."

"It's just some similarities, resolving it shouldn't be a big deal."

Henry nodded in agreement. This was indeed not a big deal; a little money would solve everything. However, solving it now was much better than solving it when the movie was released next year.

"This, we just borrowed a little, will there still be trouble?" Wiseman was a little confused.

"Yes, when the movie is released, if there's profit, they can sue us. Even if we go to court, their chances of winning are high," Charles said, pointing to the documents on the table.

"There are over 70 similarities. Going to court is not a good choice. We still need to choose an out-of-court settlement. Resolving the issue in advance is best for us!"

And so, Henry relayed Sharl's feedback back to Los Angeles, and someone would take care of it.

At night, Sharl had just lay down when someone opened the door and came in, familiarly slipping into Charles covers.

"Kate, hiss..." Who else could it be but Kate Beckinsale? Charles had given her a room key.
