After Allen and his group managed to escape the facility and made their way far enough toward a cliff, about fifteen minutes later—
BOOOOM!!!
A massive explosion erupted from the Umbrella facility. The entire structure detonated, shaking the ground beneath their feet and leaving nothing but shattered debris and ruins behind.
No one could even imagine how much explosive had been used to completely wipe out a building of that scale.
"It seems Umbrella really wanted to erase all traces of their crimes, judging by the way they destroyed the evidence," Allen said, shaking his head.
The others were just as stunned by how thoroughly the facility had been obliterated. But at the same time, they felt a sense of relief—at least they had made it out alive.
And with the facility now destroyed, the spread of the virus causing the outbreak could, for now maybe, be contained.
At least… that's what some of them believed.
"This is finally over," Billy muttered as he sat down on the grass.
Not long after, the sun began to rise from the east, casting a warm glow over the land. Allen, Billy, Rebecca, and Svetlana stood quietly, watching it in silence. For a brief moment, there was peace.
The tension, the blood, the horrors of the facility… at least for now, they could leave it behind.
"You know… this mission was even worse than the one I went through in Africa," Billy said.
"Ohh… so what's your plan after this?" Allen asked, a little curious.
"I don't know. I'm thinking of disappearing for a while. Maybe head out to the countryside… start farming or something," Billy replied. It was clear he wanted nothing to do with this kind of nightmare ever again.
Allen reached into his bag and pulled out a stack of cash.
"In that case… you're going to need this," he said, tossing it over.
Billy caught it, raising an eyebrow. "Ohh? What's this? A bribe to keep my mouth shut?"
Allen just shook his head, smiling lightly.
"No. You can use it to start a new life."
Then he stepped forward and took Billy's name tag.
"Because from now on… you're officially dead."
Billy froze for a moment… then his expression softened.
Slowly, he stood up straight, facing them, and gave a soldier's salute.
Allen, Rebecca, and Svetlana returned it.
"Thank you… Allen, Rebecca, Svetlana. I won't forget this. If we meet again someday… I'll repay this debt," Billy said, his eyes slightly glistening.
Allen only nodded.
"Oh, right… head west. Not too far from here, there's a villa of mine. You'll find some vehicles there you can use. But be careful—the forest's still dangerous. And… I suggest you leave this place as soon as possible."
He then handed Billy the access key.
Seeing this, Billy felt incredibly grateful to have met Allen. All he could do was thank him once again for the help.
Not long after, Billy finally parted ways with them.
Meanwhile, Rebecca and Svetlana couldn't help but think Allen was far too kind to someone he had just met—but that only made them admire him even more.
"So, where do we go next?" Svetlana asked.
"We should try to find the Captain and the rest of the team first," Allen replied.
Rebecca then pointed toward a massive mansion not far away.
"Allen, look—couldn't that be the mansion the Captain mentioned earlier?" she said, her eyes fixed on the looming structure.
"Yeah… let's head there. We can also use it as a place to rest," Allen said, noticing how exhausted and sleepy Rebecca looked.
.....
Meanwhile, not far from Allen's position—deep within the underground subway—Sergei stood gazing at the ruins of Umbrella's executive training facility, a look of irritation crossing his face.
Thanks to Wesker's interference, he had only managed to recover a small portion of Marcus's remains.
"You've really outdone yourself this time, Wesker," Sergei muttered coldly. "But mark my words… next time you try something like this, I'll kill you with my own hands."
With that, he stepped into his vehicle and began heading back to Raccoon City through the subway system. Fortunately, the tunnels had remained intact despite the massive explosion above.
Before long, Sergei arrived in Raccoon City. Without wasting time, he handed the recovered samples to his subordinates, giving strict orders for them to be delivered directly to Spencer.
At the same time, Wesker—who had taken the same subway route ahead of Sergei—had already returned to the city.
Without delay, he made his way toward the RPD, preparing to set his next plan into motion: obtaining a copy of the TALOS Project data hidden within Spencer's mansion.
.....
At this moment, Allen, Rebecca, and Svetlana finally entered the mansion and searched for a room where they could rest for a while. Allen immediately tried contacting the other team members to check on their condition.
"Captain, this is Allen. Our team is currently inside the mansion you mentioned earlier. We also found Billy… but unfortunately, he couldn't be saved, Captain."
"Allen, what about you? Are you all alright?" Enrico's voice crackled over the radio.
"We're fine, Captain. Right now, we're resting in one of the library rooms near the lobby on the second floor," Allen replied.
"Good. We'll head there later. For now, get some rest—we're also regrouping here. And be careful, we've run into a lot of strange creatures inside this place. Stay alert," Enrico warned before cutting the transmission.
"It seems the Captain is doing fine," Allen said to Rebecca and Svetlana. "Let's rest here for now. After that, we can meet up with the others."
"I'll take the first watch. You two should rest," Svetlana offered.
"Alright, but don't push yourself too hard. If you get tired, wake me up," Allen replied, agreeing to the arrangement before lying down on a large sofa with Rebecca at his side.
Svetlana just shook her head at Allen's words, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she stood guard.
After about two hours, Allen finally woke up from his sleep. Rebecca was still fast asleep from exhaustion, but of course Allen didn't wake her. He then noticed Svetlana, still awake, calmly reading a book at a table.
Allen walked over to her. "Hey, I'm up. Let's switch shifts," he said.
"Okay," Svetlana replied, closing her book before lying down and quickly drifting into a deep sleep. She, too, needed rest to recover her stamina.
Not long after, while the women slept, Allen opened his bag to grab some rations to eat and brewed himself a cup of coffee. He sat by the window, gazing outside as he enjoyed the view from behind the glass.
"This mansion really is beautiful… but it's a shame it's being used for such twisted research," Allen muttered, unable to understand what went through Spencer's mind.
"Come to think of it, wasn't there supposed to be a girl trapped inside this mansion?" But Allen quickly shook his head.
"Too bad that girl can't be saved anymore. Even if I could help her, the trauma she suffered runs far too deep. The only option would be to erase her memories… but that's no different from killing her. Well… I'm no saint anyway. Better to just leave it be."
....
Later that day at the RPD, it had been more than twelve hours since Bravo Team went missing on their mission. There was still no report, no contact at all.
That made Jill increasingly worried.
For now, she and Athena were staying in her private office, waiting for any news. Jill sat quietly on the sofa, her expression tense.
"Don't worry, Jill. Allen and the others are surely fine," Athena said, trying to comfort her.
Jill could only nod.
Yeah… she really hoped so.
On the other side, Lupo was with Yoko inside a trailer truck, hacking into Umbrella's system.
Their goal was simple—steal as much data as possible from Umbrella's supercomputer.
There were some obstacles. The Red Queen tried to trace their location, but Wednesday quickly shut it down.
This version of Red Queen wasn't as advanced as the one in the films, so Yoko managed to break through the system without too much trouble. Even so, copying all the data still took time.
Back at the RPD, Lieutenant Marvin entered Jill's office.
"Hey, Jill, I thought you were on leave," Marvin said, trying to lighten the mood. He had just heard that Jill was back and came to check on her—especially since this involved S.T.A.R.S.
"So… is there any news from them yet?" Jill asked.
Marvin shook his head.
"Sorry, Jill. We've tried everything, but we haven't picked up any signal. Most likely, they're somewhere out of range," he explained.
"But don't worry—if they still don't report in after another eight hours, we'll send Alpha Team to search for them."
Hearing that, Jill took a deep breath and leaned back.
"Alright… thank you, Lieutenant. But please update me if you hear anything."
"Of course. I'll head out for now," Marvin replied before leaving the room.
Not long after Marvin left, Jill turned to Athena and headed toward Chief Brian's office.
It was clear—she had made her decision. She wanted to postpone her leave and join the next mission.
"Hey, Jill… are you sure about this?" Athena asked.
Jill nodded.
"Yeah. You'll support me, right?"
Athena sighed softly, then smiled.
"Of course. But this time, I'm coming with you. I'm not letting you go alone."
"Thanks, Tena," Jill said, hugging her.
Soon after, Jill entered Chief Brian's office and began negotiating.
This time… she even slipped in some money, copying Allen's habit to make things go smoother.
It was her first time doing something like this.
When she finally walked out of the office, Jill felt a little embarrassed.
But she had no other choice.
Especially since she needed to make sure Athena could join the mission too.
....
Six hours had passed since Rebecca had fallen asleep, and she finally woke up at the same time as Svetlana.
"How long was I out?" Rebecca asked.
"About six hours," Allen replied.
"Why didn't you wake me up for my shift?" Rebecca questioned.
"Well, you looked really exhausted, so I didn't want to wake you. Besides, I enjoyed watching you sleep so peacefully," Allen said teasingly.
"Hey, stop treating me like a little girl," Rebecca pouted, her cheeks puffing up like a blowfish.
"Alright, alright. How about we eat first? I've already prepared some food for you," Allen said.
Looking over at the table, Rebecca and Svetlana saw a meal that looked appetizing enough to make their empty stomachs growl. They quickly headed to the small table Allen had set up as a makeshift dining spot.
As they ate, Svetlana turned to Allen. "Allen, what do you think about the bioweapons scattered around this place?" she asked, her expression thoughtful. Perhaps, she wondered, if she could get her hands on such weapons, her country could free itself from war and stand independently.
"If this outbreak isn't contained soon, it could spread across the entire continent," Allen replied.
Hearing that, Svetlana's face darkened a little. It seemed her idea needed serious reconsideration.
"What were you thinking about, anyway?" Allen asked.
"Nothing," Svetlana answered, going back to her meal.
Allen, watching her reaction, could only shake his head. 'Yeah, women really are hard to understand.'
"Allen, what should we do next? Are we going to regroup with the others after this?"
"Hmmm… my plan is to find the lab that's supposed to be here. Maybe I can create some antivirus—who knows, it might come in handy later. And we should also steal some data; it could serve as evidence. After that, we'll regroup with the rest of the team," Allen explained.
Rebecca, upon hearing about the antivirus, looked intrigued. She wanted to see how the creation process would work.
Not long after, they set off in search of the lab they needed.
....
Meanwhile, the other members of Bravo Team were locked in a fierce battle against the bioweapons inside the mansion.
Under Enrico's leadership—and with a bit of luck—they managed to push deeper, eventually reaching the innermost chambers of the estate.
What they found there… was far worse than anything they had seen before.
Grotesque bioweapons filled the area—mutated creatures beyond recognition. Among them were horrifying plants that could drain the blood from their victims.
The mere sight of it forced everyone to stay on edge, fingers tight on their triggers.
"What the hell is this place…?" Enrico muttered, his expression dark and tense.
Even so, he didn't stop.
With the weapons and equipment they had brought, they continued pressing forward—determined to uncover whatever secrets were buried deep within the mansion.
