[IRIS POV]
Normally, I would balk at the idea of revealing my wolf. But there was no point in keeping such a secret when I was under attack, especially when Marissa was practically dying in front of me. I immediately shifted, my bones cracking and snapping with a fearsome howl.
Marissa's wolf turned weakly, her eyes widening with pure disbelief when she caught sight of the new wolf standing in front of her.
I had no time to explain, I simply grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and leapt towards the centre of the lake. We were of a similar size, but I was a lot stronger than her. It also helped that Marissa was so shocked and exhausted that she didn't put up any resistance to being carried away.
I dropped her in the centre of the lake. She would be safer, and the lake water could heal her wounds, buying her more time until we could bring her to see an actual healer.
