Suddenly, my back seemed to ache with phantom wounds. I could remember the pain that came from the whipping. But Yvette wasn't done twisting the knife.
"After all, what kind of pack member knowingly carries silver with them? And to think Healer Felix knew about it but didn't say a word… I guess Ashbourne will have to look for a replacement healer soon. His loyalties aren't to the pack," Yvette sighed, and my blood grew cold at the implications of her words.
"He has nothing to do with this," I snarled out, tears forming in my eyes. I couldn't bear it if Healer Felix was whipped and cast out for helping me. "Leave Healer Felix alone!"
"Well, since I'm a kind person, I'll give it back to you― after my wedding ceremony," Yvette added cheerfully. "Don't look so glum. I am inviting you to witness my special day since you're about to be my sister-in-law."
