[CAIUS POV]
A sharp pain had rushed through me, followed by a gut-wrenching need to hurl the contents of my stomach out onto the floor. I could barely quell the unease that rolled in my stomach. At first, I thought I might have eaten something wrong, but I quickly dismissed that idea when my anxiety grew further, along with the intensity of those random bouts of pain.
'Are you really such an idiot, or are you just pretending to be daft?' Atlas snapped in my head. 'It's Iris, you dumbass. Can't you tell our mate is hurt?'
I pursed my lips. 'Not everything is linked to Iris,' I tried to argue. 'It could be a hundred other things. Maybe I ate something wrong.'
I could hear Atlas scoff in my head. He said nothing more to argue, but I could already imagine the roll of his eyes as he turned away. This was a frequent occurrence nowadays― Atlas would bring Iris up, and whenever I argued anything otherwise, he would just turn away.
