[IRIS POV]
"If this doesn't work, do not be disappointed," Healer Felix warned me as he handed me a cup of medicinal broth. "You do not need a wolf to reject Caius. In fact, it would be counterproductive to awaken your wolf now to let her feel such grief."
"I know, but I don't have time to waste. The wedding is tomorrow," I told him, and I took a sharp gulp of the broth he offered, nearly gagging at the taste. The liquid burned my throat going down, and I chugged down a jug of water to wash it down.
"Do you feel any different?" Healer Felix asked, ready to take notes.
I let out a burp. "I… I don't think so? My body feels warmer, but that's it."
Healer Felix sighed. "Back to the drawing board it is."
After I had retold my highly vivid dream memory to Healer Felix, he agreed to help me awaken my wolf. I knew he believed I was hallucinating, but intellectual curiosity was a hell of a drug, and he couldn't ignore the urge to try.
