Chapter 26 - 26: Stranded

Varney

I was shocked on waking up and felt only a slight amount of pain, because the pain had been so bad when I stumbled to my room last night. A relieved sigh fell past my lips as I got up to do all my chores for the morning quickly before heading to class. I'll have to clean the outsides of the dorm along with the other human slaves, and I wasn't looking forward to that right now.

A groan left my mouth as I stepped out of the room, heading straight for the room where the cleaning supplies were in. I noticed Landon immediately, cause it was hard not to when he literally glows in anywhere he's in. He shot me a glare and I hoped he wouldn't approach me but it's just my shitty luck cause he stalked towards me, his eyes darting around as if trying to confirm no one's watching him approach me.

"Heard you went to a party in the platinum dormitory last night? How did you get in? Who gave you an invite?!" He demanded in a hushed voice, eyes blown wide.

I blinked in confusion, caught off guard cause I didn't expect the news to have spread.

"Answer me! I know a freak like you wouldn't ever be approached by the lowest ranked person in that dormitory, so how did it happen?"

I clamped my mouth shut, glaring at him. "What's it to you? I don't have to tell you anything, Landon. And you should seriously stop approaching me if you badly don't wanna be seen speaking with a freak like me. You should also not approach me if you'll speak to me rudely. At least, no one's forcing you to." I bit out, watching as his face grew slack, his mouth gaping.

"I— what?" He finally cried out, looking insulted, red faced and angered. "I'm your older brother, I can talk to you however I want and you must answer me!" He gritted through clenched teeth and I let out a scoff.

"Please leave me alone, Landon. I have to perform my slaves duties and I'm sure you won't wanna be spotted with me."

I walked past him after that, ignoring his angered scoff.

Good riddance.

I didn't spot the rest of the guys I was supposed to clean up with and I assumed they've already started. And so I got to work fast, determined to not be late to classes today no matter what.

I had barely swept a full hall before someone was standing in front of me. When I glanced up, I was shocked to be staring into the eyes of the red haired pretty senior.

"Good morning, senior!" I greeted fast, bowing my head a little in respect. I'm yet to forget how he basically saved my ass last night by choosing to try out my food first, and the way he complimented me.

He offered me a warm smile, waving me off. "Now, there's no need for that, human. And you can call me Katz."

I nodded, relieved that he was still being nice to me. "Thank you, Katz."

He hummed while nodding, and then his eyes briefly glanced around before he stepped closer to me, way too close, making me instantly tense up, my eyes flying wide.

"Are you hurt?" He asked, voice low and tone serious. All traces of teasing were gone from his face.

My eyes widen in confusion.

"I- what?"

"From last night. You were at the platinum dormitory, yes? Are you hurt from it? Did anyone… touch you in a way that hurt you or something?" He asked and I blinked before slowly shaking my head.

"Oh no, I'm fine." I breathed quietly and he looked surprised, his eyes raking over me

"Are you sure?"

I nodded again.

"This is great then. I was worried when I heard the leader took you there last night." He sighed out, running a hand through his bright hair.

I opened my mouth to say something but he placed a hand on my shoulder. "You know what, kid? I like you for some reason and don't wanna see you hurt."

My eyes widen, unable to believe my ears.

"I think I'll be keeping an eye on you on moving forward."

He walked off after giving me one more grin, before I could ask him a single question. I was still standing in the same spot, feeling extremely lost and confused.

Was he looking out for me?

Me? A human? And he was a werewolf.

This doesn't really make a lot of sense and I wasn't sure of how to feel.

When I returned to my room, I wasn't surprised to see everywhere soiled with a lot of dirt. My fucking roommate has messed the whole place on purpose, even my own area. And this room was spotless last night.

I let out a frustrated groan, wishing I could take care of this right now, but cause I was almost running late, I jumped into the showers straight. And of course, there was no fucking hot water.

Gods. I hate my roommate so fucking much.

By the time I showered, I toweled myself dry and was about to pull out my clothes when I realized that my entire clothes were wet.

As in, my whole box of clothes were fully soaked, literally dripping water.

A panicked sound left my mouth as I stood frozen, gaping at the mess.

Why would my roommate do this? Why does he hate me this much? He did this on purpose. Not a single piece of clothing was left dry, not even my fucking underwears.

A pained sound left my mouth and I began to pace around in panic, my mind a complete mess. I couldn't possibly skip today's classes, this is just my second day, and there's an important class taking place today, which would start in about ten minutes and which I absolutely can't afford to miss.

Oh heavens. What do I do now?
