Chapter 25 - 25: STRAIGHT

Varney

"Thank you for seeing me off, even though you didn't have to." I breathed out as I glanced up at Kade. He was so tall that I had to look all the way back just to lock eyes with him.

I didn't like that.

I also didn't like that I was clinging to him like a koala now, but it was either that or I collapsed on the ground.

"Nonsense. How do you expect me to leave you in such a state? How then would your get back to your dorm, hm?" He asked with a low chuckle, an eyebrow arched and my face felt a little warm as I looked away, huffing quietly. The moon was full, so I could see very clearly, and it was cold, making me shiver a little.

His hand around my sides pulled me even closer and i tried not to dwell on how strong his body feels. Strong and powerful. Large hands, hard abs visibly through his tight shirt. A small sigh left my mouth as I shook my hea

I wish that could be me.

After we left the party, I missed some steps and crashed to the ground, and that was when all the pain in my body from the beating I got at school seemed to instantly triple. I hadn't expected him to help me up while offering give me something that would help with the pain. When he suggested we go to his room for it, I had instantly grown scared and uncomfortable, but when he swore that he wasn't gonna hurt me or do anything to me, somehow, I ended up giving in. The ointment he massaged into my bruised ribs helped, but it still hurt so damn much, and it was hard to walk on my own.

A sharp pain shot through my ribs and I let out a pinched cry, stumbling and almost doubling over. It was getting harder and harder to breathe without feeling pain.

"What's wrong?" He asked, peering down at me and I was surprised to see worry across his face.

I tried to smile and assure him I was fine but a wince passed across my face as pain shot through my bones again.

Wordlessly, I felt hanss slid around my back and underneath my knees, then I was lifted high against his chest by his hands, knocking a panicked, shocked sound from my lungs.

"W- what are you doing?" I stuttered, my face flaming hot as I tried kicking my legs out, but pain shot through my legs, making me slump into his strong arms while it felt like I might go up in flames from embarrassment

"Put me down please!" I cried out desperately cause there's nothing as embarrassing as this. I was a grown eighteen old man, why would anyone carry me like this?

However, Kade only chuckled as he stared down me with those eyes dancing with amusement. "You're clearly in too much pain to walk. Just stay put, we'll arrive at your dorm soon."

I opened my mouth to argue, but when he jostle me a little, the little pressure was enough to make me cry out softly in pain. He had assured me the pain would reduce, and while it indeed refused, he pointed out that it would mostly work after I fall asleep.

"No arguments, I'm not putting you down." He declared firmly and I remained stiffly in his arms, feeling silly and mortified as he resumed walking. We were faster this way, and I felt too shy to meet his eyes in this position where my hands were gripping his firm, broad shoulders.

"How did you even get this hurt? Enough to bruise your ribs this much." He inquired and I refused to spill at first till he insisted and I didn't want to be rude since he was being nice to me right now.

And so I told him a quick summary of what went down.

"I'll take care of it for you." He responded by the time I finished and I gasped in shock, my eyes widening.

"Y- you don't have to do this…"

"Didn't you get hurt because of that dumbo and his useless girlfriend?"

I swallowed hard. "I just want any unnecessary trouble. It's fine, I don't think they'll bother me anymore anyway, they've most definitely already forgotten what I look like."

He frowned at me, looking surprised. "Are you sure?"

I nodded, feeling pleasantly surprised that he offered to take care of that for me, especially cause he didht know me or owe me anything. This was just our first time meeting and I never expect someone of his level to be nice to a human like me.

"Thank you for offering though." I breathed out, instantly feeling why when he kept staring at me.

"You're really beautiful, Varney." He revealed.

My face felt hot as I looked away fast, wishing I wasn't in his arms right now.

"Um, thanks." I breathed out awkwardly while wondering if I should tell him right now that I was straight.

But wouldn't that be rude?

I mean, It would imply that I was accusing him of having that kind of thoughts towards me, but what if he wasn't and was just being nice to me?

We arrived at the bronze dormitory shortly, and the security took one look at him and opened the door, making me wonder what kind of high class family he's from.

My face felt ridiculously warm when he set me down and his hands lingered on my back more than necessary.

"Thank you so much for your help." I admitted quietly, sincerely as I stared up at him. He let out a hum as he stepped back.

"You're welcome and I'll see you tomorrow, yes?" He asked and I reluctantly nodded cause it would be rude to refuse after he just helped me.

I felt startled when he picked my hand up and dragged a thumb over my knuckles, my mouth falling open when he leaned down and dragged his lips lightly over it.

My eyes widened in shock and I stood frozen, stunned out of my mind.

He walked off right after that, before I could find my voice to tell him that I was straight and not into men at all.

My mouth wordlessly opened and closed a few times before I sighed as I turned and made my way into the building.

I guess I can just tell him when we meet tomorrow, that I was STRAIGHT.

Yes. That's what's gonna happen.
