Chapter 14 - after 5 years

After Five Years — London

"Krīday, beta, where are you? Come here and see what Mumma has made for you," Kashvi called out to her four-year-old son.

Kriday came running and wrapped his tiny arms around her waist.

"Wow, Mumma! Pasta!" he exclaimed, eyes shining. "Thank you, Mumma. I love you."

Kashvi smiled softly and brushed his hair. "Now eat quickly. I'll get you ready after that. Krish uncle will be here soon to take you to school."

She helped Kriday get dressed, fixing his little jacket with careful hands.

Kriday was Ved's son.

Yes—five years ago, Kashvi had lied. She had begged the doctor to declare that her baby had died, so she could walk away from Ved without guilt, without chains. She had been alone then, wandering with a suitcase and an unborn child growing inside her, when fate intervened.

That was when Krish had seen her.

After learning the truth, Krish brought Kashvi to London. He stood by her through the entire pregnancy, protecting her, supporting her. It was in London that Kashvi gave birth to her son—Kriday. Over time, Krish became more than a friend, yet less than a husband. He never married, not because he lacked chances, but because he still loved Kashvi. And for her and Kriday's sake, he chose silence over confession.

A while later, Krish arrived and took Kriday to school. Kashvi finished her household work with the maid when her phone suddenly rang.

"Kashvi, where are you?" her mother's sharp voice echoed.

"You left everything behind. You ruined us. Anyway… come back to India. Your sister's wedding is fixed. Your presence is necessary. And you also need to sign the divorce papers with Ved."

The moment she heard Ved's name, Kashvi froze.

"Okay, Mumma," she said after a pause. "I'll think about it and let you know."

She cut the call.

A few hours later, Krish returned with Kriday.

"Mummaaa! I'm back!" Kriday shouted joyfully and hugged her tight.

But Krish noticed the tension on Kashvi's face. He sent Kriday to his room and then turned to her.

"What's wrong, Kashvi?"

She told him everything.

At the mention of divorce, happiness flickered in Krish's eyes—but he hid it well.

"Then let's go to India," he said calmly. "Finish everything with Ved once and for all. After that, there will be no connection between you and him. Ever."

Kashvi spent hours thinking.

I'll have to face Ved again… she thought, but this time, I won't be alone. This time, I'll stand there with my son.

In the end, she decided to return to India—stronger than before.

Kashvi was no longer the broken woman she once was. She was now the CEO of a successful company. Krish had played a massive role in her rise, standing behind her when the world had turned its back.

"Now you and I are equals, Ved," she whispered with cold rage.

"And I'll make sure my hatred destroys you."

A few days later, Krish, Kashvi, and Kriday boarded a flight to India.

The plane landed.

And with it, Kashvi's past was waiting—wide awake.
