Chapter 29 - Trouble Growing

A few days have gone by, and both Sumi and Taka have been training with ALucard. Skylar would always glare at them when Alucard wasn't looking. Dracule and Elizabeth have also been watching Sumi and Taka over the last few days. The light creatures and Tara have been watching them throughout the day. The day creatures are just as uneasy. But Alucard hadn't shown any signs of being uneasy in any way. And it is driving Skylar crazy. She can't understand why ALucard doesn't see what she and the rest do. Sumi and Taka were a possible threat. And ALucard let his guard down with them, all because he wanted to spread the knowledge his mother would have wanted. He wasn't being careful anymore. By the third day, Dracule began to worry that her brother might be blinded by his need to do everything right by his mother's memory. Dracule would do the same, but she had Elizabeth to keep her head straight. Alucard was alone, maybe getting close to Skylar, but no partner. That was the problem. He didn't have someone who challenged him, or challenged what he was thinking inside. Dracule knew Skylar might be Alucard's only chance of getting through this situation.

"I still don't trust her, Elizabeth," Dracule told Elizabeth one night in their home. "But I trust those two far less than that Maki woman. She is dangerous, but I have a bad feeling about those two who came."

"Because you are still scared, inside, Dracule," Elizabeth said, looking at Dracule with sad eyes.

"How am I supposed to be anything but not fear?" Dracule asked, turning to Elizabeth from the window as the sun began to set slowly. "Those two have been here for five days, and they are causing issues with Alucard and Skylar, as with Alucard and me. He's my brother for god's sake!"

"I know, Dracule," Elizabeth said. "But you need to understand that this is a big deal to him. You would be the same too."

"But these new individuals, they can't be trusted."

"But you can just look... outside," Elizabeth said, but when her eyes looked out the window behind Dracule, her eyes widened in fear. Dracule hadn't noticed.

"I know I can look outside and-"

"No, look! Outside!" Elizabeth turned Dracule at her shoulders, and showed her sunlight shining through the house Alucard was staying in, specifically the window to his bedroom.

"Alucard!" Dracule shouted, her hands against the window.
