Skylar rushed through the castle, an orb of sunlight with rings spinning around it, and it carried her through faster than almost anything. She rushed past Trevor and Sypha, almost knocking them down. Skylar got to Alucard's childhood room, and what she saw shocked her to the core. Alucard and Dracule backed away, both of them terrified and shaking. Elizabeth pulled Dracule behind her while Dracule whimpered and shook, turning paler than she already looked. What was coming towards them, hands out, was a version of Dracula that was almost crumbling into dust and flaking off as it moved towards Alucard and Dracule. Skylar moved on instinct as the light orb dissipated, and she drew her sword. With one quick slash of Skylar's sword, she cut off the mortifying figure's head. She stood between Alucard and his father's remains. Skylar raised her hand as the other two came in, creating an orb of sunlight in her hand. It began to burn Dracula's remains. Her brows furrowed, and sorrow filled her eyes as she hesitated and then glanced back at Alucard. She half turned to face Alucard. She knew this wasn't going to go well for him. Dracule had buried her face in Elizabeth's neck and began crying to avoid looking.
"Alucard," Skylar said, her voice careful. "Turn away if you need to."
Alucard backed away slowly and took hold of the bedpost, holding on as Skylar turned to Dracula's remains and filled the room with sunlight, as the light burned Dracula's body. Dark shadow beings rushed out from Dacula's remains, smashing the windows as screams filled the air. The shadows swirled up into the sky as they vanished into the air. Skylar stayed between Alucard and where Dracula's body was. She didn't move until the shadows were gone. Once the area grew silent besides Dracule's muffled cries, Skylar turned to Alucard.
"... Alucard," Skylar spoke carefully. "It's over now, right?"
Alucard only stared at the singed carpet on the floor; his father's wedding ring lay in the mess. The last item left by Dracula was like a nagging reminder of what he had just lost.
"We did," Alucard said, but his voice was hollow. He just lost his father. Leaving only him and his sister alone. No family left to turn to. "I... killed my father."
"... No," Dracule sniffled, wiping her reddening eyes. "We did... both of us... We're alone now... no more family..."
Elizabeth held Dracule as she cried, doing what she could with physical contact to comfort her.
"You ended a war on humankind," Trevor said. Skylar took Alucard's hand. He looked to her, tears behind his eyes, not yet ready to form.
"He's right, Alucard," Skylar told him. "You and your sister stopped a slaughter from continuing. But... You can mourn the loss you both have faced."
Alucard took a shaky breath. Dracule broke down, sobbing into Elizabeth's embrace.
"He died a long time ago," Alucard said, sounding more like he was trying to convince himself than convince the others.
