Dracule and Elizabeth stopped at one room, one that Dracule had slumped to the floor in, and began sobbing. Elizabeth helped her and comforted her as she and Dracule sat together on the floor of what looked like a child's room.
"Dracule," Elizabeth said, holding Dracule. "What is so important to you about this room?"
"..." Dracule sniffled and wiped her eyes. "This was my brother's childhood room... I needed a place with happy memories, or something less painful."
Elizabeth watched Dracule, her shoulders trembled. Elizabeth held her, cradling Dracule in her arms and comforted her. Neither spoke. Many thumps and rumbles echoed through the castle. Meanwhile, Tara tended to Skylar. She managed to lift Skylar and carry her on her shoulder to an open area while Trevor and Sypha ran after Alucard and his father, following the sounds.
"Go bring one!" Tara told the day creatures, setting Skylar on the ground carefully. A day creature ran off to locate a night creature. "She needs to recharge!"
Meanwhile, Alucard was fighting his father continuously, crashing through walls into other rooms, and hurting each other with physical attacks. Again and again, throwing each other across the castle, until Dracula threw Alucard into a room that had memories he could never ignore. Dracule was in that room with Elizabeth. Dracule screamed as Alucard came through the wall, and Elizabeth yanked her behind her to shield her. As Dracula came into the room, dragging his claws on the stone wall, he and Alucard froze, seeing the room the four of them were in. Dracula's hand, once outstretched with claws ready to fight, he closed it into a fist and held it against his chest.
"... It's your room," Dracula said, his voice low, realizing what he had been doing to his son and his daughter in the collateral. Books, maps, and toys filled the room, all for the son they adored, and the daughter they cherished had just seen her own father corner Alucard to kill. The room of toys he and his wife made for the children they both loved with all their hearts. SKylar's words from before echoed in his mind. 'Is this what you want for Dracule? To know her father had to be killed by his own son, when someone else had already killed Lisa's killer, yet you still do this?' His eyes went from red to white sclera, his heart sank as he looked around the room, saw his daughter, crying in the arms of her human companion, his son, back against the now broken bedframe of the childhood room that Dracula built for him, then to the painting of his wife, children, and him, happy, together. "... My boy..."
"I'm —," Dracula's words trembled as he crossed his hands over his chest, fists against his shoulders. His voice almost trembled as he struggled to get the words out. It hit him. He was trying to kill his son, the one he adored and wanted the world for. Dracule watched her father, as did Alucard. Elizabeth could see the pain in their eyes and in Dracula's voice. "I — I'm killing my boy..."
"Lisa..." he said as he made his way to the painting, looking at Lisa, Alucard, and Dracule in the painting, all with him, when they were happy and a family. His voice shook with pain. "I'm killing our boy... in front of our girl... We painted this room. We... made these toys. It's our boy, Lisa... "
"... Dracule — my poor girl..." Dracula's voice shook, an apology aimed directly at his daughter. She and Alucard stood. Alucard is taking a broken piece of his childhood bead, a stake. Dracule trembled, knowing what was going to come next. While a day creature lured a night creature to Skylar, Alucard and Dracule had to kill their father. "Your greatest gifts to me... And I'm killing him in front of his younger sister..."
"..." Dracula raised his head to look at his children. Dracule, trying so hard to hold back her tears, and Alucard, who looked in pain to do this, but knew it was what had to happen. "I must already be dead..."
Dracule's hands shook, trembling because she knew she was going to lose her father, even if he died the day her mother did. Even after everything Dracula had done, she still loved her father so much that she wanted to avoid this until the end. Dracula took his daughter's hand and his sons' together, on the piece of wood, and aimed it at his heart. Dracule looked at her father, tears flowing down her cheeks.
"Dracule... Alucard..." Dracula spoke as his children pushed the stake into his chest. "... You will always be my children... the most cherished forms of the love of your mother and me..."
Dracule let out a short cry as she and Alucard pushed the stake as far as it would go, killing Dracula. Bringing an end to both a vampire warlord and a father who lost his way in darkness. As Dracula's form turned to a dust dark husk, a day creature brought a night creature to Skylar. She was barely able to raise her head as the night creature got close. She shot out at top speed, grabbing the night creature by the throat. Daylight erupted, and the night creatures' shrieks echoed in the walls. Its form decomposed, till only a skeleton remained, as Skylar tore its soul out. Something Maki clan members could do, but not in the way Skylar has. Something she would rather die than let Alucard see. As she threw the skeleton down, her powers and strength recharged, and she heard something. A harsh thump from a heartbeat.
"Alucard!" Skylar turned to the opening where Dracula and Alucard had gone down. That thump was Alucard's heartbeat, spiking from fear. In a bolt light, Skylar was off. Travelling on an orb of sunlight with two rings circling it.
