Chapter 11: When the Trap Finally Closes
The morning inside Montclair Palace looked peaceful from the outside.
But within its walls—everything had already been arranged like a carefully prepared trap.
Lady Seraphina stood before the mirror with a faint smile on her lips.
To her, today was not unexpected.
It was the result of a plan long prepared.
"Today, the truth will simply reveal itself."
The maid beside her lowered her head and quietly laughed.
In another corridor of the palace stood Adrian Montclair.
His eyes were cold. Confident.
"Is everything ready?" he asked.
One of the guards nodded immediately.
"Yes, Young Master."
A slight smile appeared on Adrian's lips.
"Then Elara will have nowhere left to escape."
Before noon, Elara was summoned.
A maid approached and bowed slightly.
"Lady Seraphina wishes to see you."
Elara paused for a moment.
A strange uneasiness rose inside her, though nothing appeared on her face.
"Very well," she answered calmly.
At that same time, Kael Montclair was outside the palace attending a meeting.
He had no idea how the trap inside was being prepared.
And yet, an uncomfortable feeling refused to leave him.
When Elara entered Seraphina's chamber, the door slowly closed behind her.
The room was elegant and silent—
but strangely heavy.
"Come closer," Lady Seraphina said softly.
She stepped forward with graceful calm.
"Do you know what the most dangerous thing inside this palace is?"
Elara did not answer.
Her eyes quietly observed every corner of the room.
Then suddenly—
Click.
The sound of the door locking echoed behind her.
Elara turned sharply.
"What is this…?"
Seraphina smiled.
"I told you. Today, only the truth will be revealed."
A voice came from outside the room.
"Evidence of treason has been discovered."
Elara's eyes trembled slightly.
One of the guards slid a sealed document into the chamber.
An official accusation.
It stated:
Elara is involved in a conspiracy against the state.
Elara slowly shook her head.
"This is false…"
Seraphina answered without emotion.
"Whether it is false or true is irrelevant."
She moved a little closer.
"What matters… is what people choose to believe."
At that moment, Adrian Montclair appeared at the doorway.
Victory already lingered in his eyes.
"You've been caught."
Elara stepped back.
For the first time, shock appeared on her face.
Then suddenly—
the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the palace halls.
Kael Montclair had returned.
His eyes burned with anger, restrained beneath cold control.
"Seraphina…" he said quietly.
Lady Seraphina smiled slowly.
"The game has only just begun, Kael."
And in that moment, Elara finally understood—
This was never only about destroying her.
It was about isolating Kael.
Separating him from everyone around him.
The doors slowly shut.
Darkness thickened.
And the trap finally closed completely.
To be continued…
