The following morning, Xanthe was awoken by a call from Lorenzo. Even before she answered the phone, she knew exactly why he was calling.
"Xanthe!" His voice boomed from the other side of the line. "How dare you hurt Pixie?"
Xanthe yawned, still feeling a bit drained from yesterday's ordeal. "Compared to what she's done to me the past couple of days," she replied drowsily, "flipping her in the air is nothing."
"You used magic on a child, Xanthe. On. A. Child!" Lorenzo roared. "She couldn't even sleep last night because she was too scared to close her eyes. I've just been gone for two days and you're already terrorizing my baby sister?"
Now that sobered Xanthe up, every trace of sleep left her instantly.
