The question wasn't loud. It didn't need to be. Alpha Hades voice carried weight of its own.
"A-Alpha Hades, w-what are you going here?" I was surprised that I was able to make a full a sentence even if I was still reeling from my conversation with the Alpha king.
"I asked you a question Iris" he scowled. I moved back a bit.
"I was out and about" I said staring at the floor.
"If you are really confident in your answer why are you not looking at me?" I groaned in my mind.
What was he even doing here? Why did he want to make things difficult.
"I-I am confident in my answer. My eyes are paining me that's why I'm staring at the ground"
Not a good lie, a small voice in my head said.
Alpha Hades touched my jaw and lifted my chin slightly so I was looking into his eyes. His touch awakened a familiar sensation in my skin.
"Where exactly were you, Iris" he sounded annoyed now.
"I was in the gardens" I heard a low growl.
"I don't appreciate lies, Iris"
