Chapter 38 - Chapter 38

The ship arrived at the port of Ac-ra in a day and a half. The journey had granted them thirty six hours, and with each hour they'd caught up more and more, talked so much more than they ever did. And yet not once had they ever brought up the Darcens who hunted them. But why would they? After all they were a past long scribbled over. They were going to cover that haunting past with a future they created together. They're meandering conversations begun with their reminiscing, their hearty laughter and loosened minds. They weren't going to burden themselves anymore. And maybe after leaving Ac-ra, they could really start a normal life. A new life.... Just the two of them, they could already see how good that'd be.

‎ Now, they had to meet Lois's savior, the only person who offered her help when she was desperate for it. As soon as they arrived at the port, Lara had 'without permission' 'taken a phone' for their convenience. The masters had lots of that too. Plus they couldn't be tracked if it wasn't theirs in the first place.

‎ They'll head down the south of the port, the Queen's palace, that's what Allegra had called it . They were to stay there a day before their departure out of Ac-ra. The timing wasn't really to her pleasure. She'd hoped they'd leave Ac-ra earlier and get far away from the Darcen trio's territory as soon as possible. However Lois couldn't voice that. The last thing she wanted was to loose the only external support she had now. On the good side, Ac-ra was totally different from the hell hole they'd crawled out from. The darkness that lingered in Kantama's air was no where to be found. Truly this was indeed a paradise compared to their former home. Every street they walked past had lights and such good roads, no mud, the best drainage systems and the smelly gutters that stunk the slums of Kantama was absent. The most surprising thing was the fact that they'd just walked past four streets and no one tackled them for money, not even once had anyone tried to steal from them. It was a complete shock on their side. And for a while they'd just stood there wandering what they just experienced.

‎ The streets of Kantama was a cruel game plot. And to think Ac-ra was also owned by the trio devils. It makes them wonder what those men were thinking when they destroyed Kantama that way?

‎The Queen's palace, the soft tunes from the grand plaza caressed their ears, the place was epic, it might have been the best guest resort they'd set their eyes on. And surprisingly they hadn't encountered security checks or even been asked for their personal information or identity cards. The chatty receptionist had just directed them to the fifth floor where they were to meet Allegra. Surely the receptionist didn't have to quip them about what to say and what not or tell them all the ways to impress and not annoy Allegra. She couldn't be that bad right?

‎ Stepping out the elevator doors, the bleeding red doors of the room with the source of such soothing music greeted them.
