Lucien's POV
Before the men approached Meret, Meret had quickly tossed the thing she was given by Xavier into her mouth after contemplating on what to do with it.
She knew she shouldn't trust Xavier, not right now. But at this point she had limited options. She was very weak and tired.
She did not know what it was, but it had a sour taste. It was in a form of a tiny cube. She did not know what she was supposed to do with it, but she swallowed it nevertheless. Strangely, the dizziness she felt and weakness that overpowered her stopped.
As they took Meret out of the cage, her hands were bounded with ropes and her eyes covered with a black cloth by the men.
Did they not know being a wolf meant these things did not work? Meret wondered, because if her wolf wasn't as dormant as it is, and she used her wolf strength, releasing herself would not be a big deal.
