"Grayfia Lucifer. One of the leaders of the Four Great Maous. A transcendent devil. The master of the Strongest Red Dragon Emperor. The Maou Maid..."
"How could I possibly not recognize her?"
Indra's mouth twitched violently several times.
He forcefully suppressed the shock and confusion surging in his heart.
After barely regaining his composure, his gaze shifted to the young man who clearly stood at the center of this encounter.
"May I ask," Indra said slowly, "if Lady Lucifer and this gentleman-who entered my office without prior notice-have any urgent business?"
Knowing full well that the visitors were trouble, Indra did not immediately flee.
Nor did he send out a distress signal.
Instead, he walked forward casually, stepping into the familiar confines of his office.
It wasn't confidence.
It was intuition.
An intuition that told him he had not yet sensed any overt hostility.
And more importantly, he had no better option.
A devil who was at least the second strongest in the world-possibly even comparable to the Infinite Dragon God Ophis-standing beside a young man whose depth he couldn't perceive at all...
Even as the strongest God-King of Mount Sumeru, he had to tread with extreme caution.
One wrong move might irritate the other party.
And that irritation could mean not only his own annihilation, but the destruction of Mount Sumeru itself.
The Infinite Dragon God Ophis was an existence that all of the so-called "World Top Ten" combined still couldn't surpass.
If Grayfia Lucifer could truly be placed on that level, then such power was no surprise.
Not to mention-
The current Grayfia appeared to be nothing more than a maid.
Clang.
The wooden door behind Indra collided with the frame, producing a dull, heavy sound.
The great Chief God of Mount Sumeru.
The head of Buddhism.
Only a "4" rating?
That's... disappointing.
Hiro glanced at the silver-white "4" floating above Indra's head and felt no particular interest.
It wasn't that he had come all the way from Japan to India without a purpose.
Indra was indeed his target.
But only as a stepping stone.
A means to locate Cao Cao and his group.
That was all.
He never took this man seriously.
After all, he already had Nemesis as a precedent-someone whose strength could rival Gilgamesh, yet whose Luck rating was merely "6."
Compared to that, Indra didn't even register as a threat.
"Urgent?" Hiro said.
"It's nothing major."
"I just want to know where Cao Cao and his group are."
In truth, before those words ever left his mouth, Hiro had already obtained the answer from Indra's mind.
He spoke anyway.
Not out of courtesy.
But because, while browsing Indra's memories, he had come across several... interesting things.
For example-
Encouraging Cao Cao to take Georg and the others to infiltrate various mythological systems to steal magical knowledge.
Using Great Youkai as sacrifices to perform a specific ritual at the center of a spiritual power line, with the goal of summoning the "Great Red."
And the idea that heroes are born in times of chaos-that only on the brink between life and death could a Sacred Gear wielder awaken the "Balance Breaker" state.
In other words-
A large portion of Cao Cao's actions in the original timeline were inseparably tied to this man, Indra.
That realization alone was enough.
In Hiro's heart, Indra had already been sentenced to death.
Since he was going to die anyway, letting him answer a question or two beforehand was hardly an issue.
"Cao Cao..."
Indra frowned.
A faint trace of hesitation surfaced in his heart.
Have Cao Cao's actions already drawn the attention of other factions?
Should I abandon them now?
While wrestling internally, Indra did not keep Hiro waiting for long.
Almost without pause, he answered.
"I do know this. Cao Cao's current location is in-"
"I already know."
Hiro waved his hand casually, interrupting him mid-sentence.
His expression was bored.
"I read it from your mind."
He didn't bother reacting to the sudden change in Indra's expression.
His tone remained flat.
"Do you have any questions?"
"Before I send you off."
You knew it from my mind?
Telepathy?
And... send me off?
Indra's face changed instantly.
He understood.
Perfectly.
This man was going to kill him.
At that moment, Indra no longer cared about explanations or logic.
As he secretly mobilized his magic power, he spoke rapidly.
"Wait!"
"There's no feud between us. This is the first time we've met today. Why such hostility?"
"If Cao Cao and his group offended you, I apologize on their behalf!"
"But that's their problem, not mine, right?"
"I only gave Cao Cao a direction. What he did afterward has nothing to do with me!"
"And Lucifer," Indra turned sharply toward Grayfia, "do you devils intend to start a war with Mount Sumeru?"
No response.
Instead, Indra felt something far worse.
His communication spells vanished into nothingness.
Gone.
Completely severed.
Right here.
At the very heart of Buddhism's main base.
His heart sank.
There was only one possible explanation.
Their preparations.
Or rather-
Their strength.
Was not even remotely on the same level.
"Is that your only question?"
The voice in front of him was calm.
Emotionless.
Indra could no longer remain still.
He grit his teeth.
"You forced my hand!"
Magic power erupted from his body.
Golden light surged outward, transforming into an overwhelming shockwave that swallowed the room.
Rumble-
The sound alone roared like mountains collapsing and the earth tearing itself apart.
Crack. Crack.
The reinforced floor-made of material far stronger than refined steel-split open inch by inch.
Fragments rose against gravity.
Then shattered into fine powder.
In that instant, the full might of Indra, Chief God of Mount Sumeru and one of the "World Top Ten," was laid bare.
His power.
His authority.
His divinity.
All unleashed without restraint.
"Sigh."
That was all.
In Indra's field of vision, the young man-whose name he didn't even know-let out a quiet sigh.
Snap.
A single snap of his fingers.
Indra's consciousness plunged into complete darkness.
No pain.
No struggle.
Just silence.
"Hm."
"Vector Manipulation combined with Haki..."
"That does produce an interesting effect."
A magic barrier blocked the surging filth.
Hiro lowered his hand and glanced at his right index finger.
Internally, he nodded.
In his hands, the superpower [Vector Manipulation] had long surpassed Accelerator by an immeasurable margin.
Even without direct contact-
He could disrupt, reverse, or instantly detonate the blood flow inside Indra's body.
Effortlessly.
Ding!
Fourth-Tier Luck extraction complete.
