What exactly was the difference between "Major Body Enhancement" and ordinary "Body Enhancement"?
Hiro listened to the system notification echoing in his mind and wondered silently.
When the system had first activated, the very first reward he received-thanks to Koneko-had been "Body Enhancement."
Now, the only visible difference was the source.
One had come from Third-Tier Luck.
The other was a Fourth-Tier Luck reward, with the additional word "Major" attached to it.
That was it.
He didn't know how effective this so-called "Major Enhancement" would actually be.
After all, back then, he had been an entirely normal person.
Compared to his current self, the difference wasn't just large-it was absolute.
Calling it the difference between heaven and earth would still be an understatement.
Without saying anything, Hiro activated the "Strength" icon in the system's item inventory.
He clenched his fist.
A faint surge of power flowed through his body.
Less than a ten percent increase.
He pursed his lips slightly.
"As expected," he muttered inwardly.
In terms of pure enhancement, this Major Enhancement was nothing more than icing on the cake.
Compared to the first Enhancement that had turned him from a normal human into something closer to a superman, the difference was obvious.
"Grayfia, let's go back."
Hiro glanced once more at the bloody scene before him.
His brows furrowed.
He stood up and spoke calmly to the maid behind him.
"Yes."
Grayfia gave a small nod and raised her hand.
A familiar silver-white magic circle unfolded beside her once more.
This time, however, she hesitated.
Looking at Hiro, she asked with a hint of inquiry, "Hiro-sama, should we return immediately, or go somewhere else first?"
With the Authority of a Heretic God, Grayfia could naturally read Indra's memories.
She already knew about Cao Cao's group-how they were stealing, seizing, and trading for magical knowledge across various mythologies.
Because of that, she understood something clearly.
Trying to immediately locate Cao Cao and the others would require guessing their movement path.
Among hundreds, perhaps thousands of factions, hitting the right location on the first attempt was unlikely.
And once travel time and rest were factored in, the chances dropped even further.
"Let's go back first."
Hiro stepped into the transfer array without hesitation.
"We'll have another chance with Cao Cao later."
"Understood."
Grayfia followed closely behind him.
As she stepped into the circle, she extended her right hand and subtly adjusted the destination coordinates.
The transfer location shifted.
Directly to Japan.
The next second, silver-white light flared.
The figures of the two vanished from Mount Sumeru.
At the same time, the [Psychological Control] Hiro had been maintaining quietly dissipated.
Personnel stationed across Mount Sumeru-those who had been late, absent from duty, or making operational errors-began to notice something was wrong.
One by one, they corrected their mistakes.
At the spot where Hiro and Grayfia had just stood, an invisible, intangible force swept through the area.
Silently.
All traces.
All evidence.
Completely erased.
Tap-tap.
Less than two minutes after their departure, the door to Indra's office was pushed open from the outside.
The sharp sound of hurried high heels echoed down the corridor.
Bang!
"I'm sorry, Heavenly Emperor, I'm late-"
The voice cut off abruptly.
The woman at the door froze.
She was a long-haired, black-clad onee-san, gold-rimmed glasses resting on the bridge of her nose.
Her eyes locked onto the scene inside the office.
Blood.
Fragments of shattered white matter.
Splattered across the floor.
Her face drained of color.
Shock and fear flooded her expression.
Her mind went completely blank.
Under the instinctive reaction of an ordinary woman, she opened her mouth.
"Aah!!!"
The scream pierced the silence.
Because of Indra's personality, the woman serving as his secretary was not some extraordinary superwoman with immense power or broad knowledge.
She was just an ordinary human woman.
Attractive.
And unfortunate enough to catch Indra's eye.
Their relationship had been illicit.
Her daily commute relied on a familiar.
The office life she knew-mostly orderly, occasionally improper-had, in an instant, transformed into something straight out of a horror film.
Her fragile heart, untouched by violence, couldn't handle it.
Not even slightly.
Very quickly, the disturbance drew attention.
Asuras.
Buddhas.
Vajra Protectors.
One after another, they rushed to the office.
They took in the scene.
Silence followed.
"That pool of matter..."
An old monkey stood at the edge of the room, a smoking pipe clenched between his fingers.
His eyes were sharp.
His voice was firm.
"It carries Indra's aura."
The implication was unmistakable.
"In other words," said the Buddha whose bare chest and back were covered in vivid dragon tattoos, "without any of us noticing, someone-or a group-entered Mount Sumeru, infiltrated Indra's office, killed him, and left without a trace."
He paused.
"Is that correct?"
The words were simple.
The conclusion was not.
"Is that even possible?" someone asked.
"Could the Victorious Fighting Buddha be mistaken?"
"Idiot!" another snapped immediately. "That's the Victorious Fighting Buddha. Do you think he'd make such a basic mistake?"
"So... Heavenly Emperor Indra has..."
The unspoken words hung heavy in the air.
"Then what do we do next?" another voice asked nervously. "Is there a Buddha or Vajra within the Thirty-Three Heavens who can replace him?"
Starting with the Victorious Fighting Buddha and the tattooed Buddha, discussions erupted.
Shock.
Panic.
Disbelief.
Who could do this?
And why target Indra specifically?
No one had an answer.
As for the human woman trembling against the corridor wall, she received almost no attention.
There were reasons.
First, a human without even a trace of magic power could never have killed Indra.
Second, her background was clean.
There was no sign of betrayal.
If manipulation or possession had been involved, she wouldn't be standing there unharmed.
At best, there would have been a corpse.
Someone had also seen her rushing toward the office just before the incident.
She hadn't had the time.
In short, the black-clad onee-san was completely ruled out.
Puff.
The old monkey took a long drag from his pipe.
Smoke curled upward.
His expression turned solemn.
He scanned the crowd.
"Listen carefully," he said in a deep voice. "No one here is to reveal a single word about this."
Silence fell.
"At least until a new Heavenly Emperor is decided, Mount Sumeru will not permit entry to any other faction."
He paused.
His gaze shifted to the only human present.
"And her."
He frowned slightly.
"Erase this portion of her memory. Send her back to the human world."
"She must never be involved with Mount Sumeru again."
"Shouldn't we just eliminate her?" someone asked quietly.
"No."
The old monkey's eyes snapped toward the speaker.
"Do as I say."
His glare was absolute.
"It can only be handled this way."
"Indeed."
And just like that-
The death of Indra at Mount Sumeru was temporarily sealed away.
