Gu Chenyu looked at the little thing talking.
"Who told you that?" He asked with a serious look.
"I was adopted when two years back and.... they told me that" she paused with a sad look.
Gu Chenyu stopped slicing the onions and he walked up to her.
Half kneeling in front of the little girl who's cheeks were chubby.
"We are not like them" he said ruffling her hair.
"Is that why you have those nightmares?" He asked.
Rui Rui's silence had answered the question.
"I won't let anyone hurt you or take you away" he adds with a serious look.
"Promise?" She asked him.
"Promise" he said with red eyes.
"Daddy are you crying again?" She asked.
"No, the onions are still stinging my eyes, don't be like your mummy now" he teased.
"I'm here mother after all" came Lin Meiyin's voice as she stood by the kitchen door.
The sleepiness in her eyes had faded away.
Rui Rui who had a sad expression on her face suddenly brightened up and ran down the chair to her mother's arms.
"Mommy" she said gleefully as she hugged Lin Meiyin's tigh.
"Mommy your hair is so funny" Rui Rui laughed, looking at the bird's nest on Lin Meiyin's head.
Lin Meiyin paused and looked at the glass cupboard and saw her reflection, she looked like she was lost in the jungle.
Gu Chenyu's laughter made her feel more embarrassed.
"What's so funny?" She said.
It was his fault after all, his absence made her run down the stairs this state.
"What are you two doing up so early?" She suddenly asked.
"Daddy Chen and I decided to make you a lovely breakfast" said Rui Rui still holding unto her mother's thigh.
"Can you make breakfast?" Lin Meiyin suddenly asked.
"Do you doubt my cooking abilities?" He replied.
"I don't know how to grade you in the kitchen" Lin Meiyin answered back.
Gu Chenyu was chopping some vegetables and he looked at her.
"How about in bed?" He suddenly asked her casually.
Lin Meiyin's cheeks immediately flushed and her hair stood on end.
"Gu Chenyu!!" She gritted.

"How could you say that in front of our daughter" Lin Meiyin said in an angry tone, placing both hands on Rui Rui's ears so she wouldn't hear his dirty thoughts.
"You are so shameless" she accused.
Gu Chenyu laughed at her, throwing a tantrum.
She looked so cute when she was angry or embarrassed.
Her face would turn so red like a tomato that you would think she would explode.
"Why don't you go freshen up" he said, after deciding not to tease her anymore.
Lin Meiyin nods and holds unto Shen Rui.
Gu Chenyu's gaze lingered on her fragile body and Lin Meiyin wondered why he stared at her like that.
His burning gaze caused her to turn away and he watched her climb back the stairs holding Shen Rui's hand.

After breakfast Lin Meiyin and Gu Chenyu decided to go pay Grandpa Nan a visit hearing from Jiang Mingxuan that Grandpa Nan was finally awake.
Lin Meiyin had thought of buying a gift along with her thinking it would be considered rude going empty handed.
"Chenyu" came her thoughtful voice.
"Mmn" he answered her, his eyes on the road.
"Don't you think we should have a gift" she suggested sweetly.
"I've got that covered up" Gu Chenyu replied.
"But you should have asked me first" she mumbled to her self, absentmindedly but Gu Chenyu heard it loud and clear and looked at her.
Lin Meiyin glanced sideways and she met a pair of glass eyes staring at her deeply.
Her cheeks turned red immediately as she lowered her head trying to keep her mind stable from his deadly glare.
She finally mustered up courage to look at him her eyes glowing innocently.
Embarrassment wavering all around her.
"Wh..what why are you staring at me like that?" She asked stuttering a bit.
Gu Chenyu's deadly stare was replaced with a teasing gaze and his lips curled up by the corners, giving him a handsome look.
Lin Meiyin's heart skipped at that smile and she felt her heart in her stomach.
Out came a faint intriguing laugh from his lips.
"Aren't you just a cute thing?" He said looking at her face that had a confused expression.
Lin Meiyin " ".
"What ever you want my queen, but it's a little late to get a gift now" he said to her.
Grabbing her hand and planting a kiss on her hand leaving her dumbfounded.
Lin Meiyin shyly turned away and decided not to look his way.
