Ezra
Allen's expression never changed.
"Syrus was never an Omega."
His voice was calm, almost frighteningly so.
"He was an Alpha."
The words still sounded like a foreign concept. Then Richard let out a sharp laugh, shaking his head as if Allen had just told the most ridiculous lie imaginable.
"Impossible. Everyone knew Syrus was an Omega."
"Everyone believed he was one," Allen corrected. "There's a difference."
I stared at him, my brain refusing to process what I was hearing. My heart was pounding so hard it felt like it could explode anytime soon.
Allen continued as though he was explaining the most basic concept to us. "The King called my blood cursed. He's right. My blood is in fact somewhat tainted. As the descendant of the gods and the only Prime Alpha to exist in generations, I was never meant to have a mate. I was never meant to mark anyone."
His eyes found mine.
"Until Ezra."
The remaining breath was knocked out of my lungs.
"He's the only exception."
