When I opened my eyes, the first thing I noticed was the soft comfy bed.
The second was the smell of the air. This was Allen's room.
Allen's room always smelled faintly of cedarwood and magnolia. I'd recognize the smell from anywhere, even if my eyes were closed.
I blinked a few times, trying to get my head to stop spinning. My whole body felt so heavy, and my legs still felt like jelly. I was still adjusting when I heard Allen's voice. It was coming from the living room.
"I don't know what happened. He just suddenly passed out."
His voice sounded tense. Worried.
"I asked his attendants if they knew anything, and they told me he hadn't eaten anything for two days." It was obvious that he was trying to maintain his composure.
"Two whole days, and nobody in this palace cared enough to give him something to eat?"
Someone else answered.
