The possibility that she might never get the chance to watch her panic. To watch her scream. To watch her lose everything she valued.
The thought caused a dull ache to spread through Sonia's chest. It lingered there like a persistent wound that refused to heal.
For a brief moment, she allowed herself to acknowledge the feeling before burying it once more.
Still, none of it showed on her face. "Good," she said calmly.
Dominic frowned immediately. "Good?"
The response was unexpected and totally out of place. Of all the reactions he had anticipated, approval was certainly not one of them.

'Shouldn't she think he was cruel? Shouldn't she see him as heartless?'
