"Hello, Mr. Dominic Whyte."
Dominic's gaze lowered briefly to the hand extended toward him.
For a fleeting moment, he simply stared at it, as though it weighed far more than a simple greeting.
Ever since receiving that mysterious phone call, he had imagined this meeting countless times in his mind.
He had considered various possibilities, imagined different kinds of people, and prepared himself for all manner of surprises.
Yet the woman standing before him was not among any of those possibilities. After a brief pause, he reached out and accepted her handshake.
The handshake was firm but brief. The moment their hands separated, Dominic leaned back slightly in his chair while his eyes remained fixed on Sonia's face.
"Well, Mr. Whyte…I am Sonia Young," she said calmly before turning slightly toward the woman seated beside her. "She is Rita Stone."
