It was mid morning and the sun was much hotter when Kelvin's car pulled up at one of the buildings in the restricted area of the city.
With a sharp exhale, he turned off the ignition and stepped out of the car with a quiet sense of urgency clinging to his every movement.
His gaze swept around the compound which was deathly silent as though a soul never lived there before he took steady steps towards the staircase arriving at the double glass door of the facility.
He pushed through the glass doors of the research facility, his reflection flashing briefly before disappearing into the sterile brightness within.
The building was unlike a typical hospital. It carried a different kind of silence—one that hummed with controlled intelligence rather than helpless waiting.
An attendant held out a lab coat to him. Kelvin grabbed it, slid his hands into it, same with the glove and made his way further in.
