Julian exhaled sharply. He was quite familiar with this expression of Kelvin. And it frightened him, his pulse throbbed hard.
For Kelvin, Julian's expression wasn't right either…it only screamed of one word 'danger'
Because whatever it is Julian had to suggest was likely something that seemed impossible.
Kelvin silently braced himself while he stared at him, waiting for an answer.
Every hesitation in Julian's gaze, the heaviness in his breath, the tightness at his jaw, it all revealed a man struggling to simplify a truth that only seemed to grow heavier with every passing second.
"Julian," he called calmly. "I know it would certainly be a difficult task but trust me…" Kelvin's heart kept pounding hard in his chest. "I can still handle it."
Kelvin wasn't joking.
