That day, Zade came home at his usual time, well past nine-thirty at night. And just like every other night, he continued his annoying little ritual of bothering Rai.
And Rai, without even realizing it, had developed a ritual of his own too.
Waiting for him.
For the bastard...
Why?
Well… technically, Rai had work to do. And in the process, he waits.
"I had to edit the assignment."
That was the excuse he had given himself nearly an hour ago while sitting at the sofa with his laptop open. But the truth was, the assignment had already been perfect. Finished. Checked three times. Ready to submit tomorrow morning.
There had been nothing left to edit.
Still, Rai kept sitting there anyway.
Maybe because it was the only excuse he had.
'Lame.'
Or maybe because he did not want to admit the actual reason.
At some point, after staring blankly at the screen for almost ten minutes, Rai finally sighed and accepted the humiliating truth.
He was bored.
Lonely too, maybe.
