Just as Zade ended the call, which he had clearly waited to do until Rai replied with an insult, as usual, Rai barely even had the chance to shove his phone back into his pocket before he noticed Lia standing right beside him.
She looked at him with that expression again. Like she had been waiting for him to say something first.
Rai genuinely had no idea why this was even happening.
"You didn't even talk to me this morning."
Lia's voice carried irritation, and Rai almost rolled his eyes immediately because what exactly was she trying to imply here? She had been the one glaring at him first in the morning. Naturally, he had taken that as a sign to stay away from her entirely.
"I was distracted this morning," Rai muttered hurriedly.
The moment he said it, he saw Teacher Lia's expression darken.
"Was that really someone you knew, Teacher Rai?"
