Conrad kept going down without thinking much about anything but just focusing on his surroundings; he knew that one mistake in this kind of strange environment would mean his death, even if he had the protection of his life from his Nen ability. There was no need to force his chance.
"Okay."
"More and more of those octopuses are inside of this area."
"With one look, I can count up to fifteen of those."
"Still, their nen aura around them is similar to a human just awakening nen."
"They pose no threat to me at all." Conrad thought and kept going down.
After some time later, he comes to the 2 km range.
"Hmmm."
"That is different than the others."
Conrad, at the left downside, saw an octopus. It was similar but also different from the other octopuses he saw; this one was three meters in length, two meters smaller than the bigger ones.
The difference was in color and the amount of aura that surrounded the creature.
"This is more of at the level of Gido, Sadaso."
"At least in terms of aura amount."
"It is more bluish in color than the bigger ones."
"Interesting."
The three-meter octopus looked at him for a moment with his big blue eyes and then did not move and looked anywhere else.
Conrad kept on going down while focusing on the small octopus.
"I am sure that they are not ordinary beasts or animals at this point," Conrad thought.
The reason for it was simple, at least in his eyes.
Ordinary beasts and creatures acted in pretty expected ways, such as defending their territory and younglings and trying to do something to warn other creatures by some sort of action.
This kind of neutrality from these creatures did not fit the actions of the wild beasts at all.
On Earth, it is known that octopuses are pretty smart in their natural environment.
It would be expected that they are smart here too, but there is NEN involvement in this world.
Something magical in the eyes of Earth back where he came from.
This changed many things in terms of the capabilities of ordinary wild beasts.
An octopus with tentacles surrounding it, living inside of underground caves, has no body that can reason; no one would think that such a creature would be just a wild beast.
"I guess they have their own rules that need to be understood."
Conrad did not mind the small octopus and went on; he also did not forget to place more "Location Ancient Script Pages" to understand the depth he was in.
While he moved, he felt something; as he looked at this right side, his eyes got serious, and he quickly swung his cane.
The cane hit a rock and obliterated the rock that was thrown to him in an instant.
Conrad's eyes locked on where the rock came from and saw a creature, not an octopus.
"The depth is around 2500 meters..."
"This creature threw a rock at me."
It was a creature, not something that he had easy understanding of.
A snake mixed with a bird, its length was about four meters, and its color was the same as an octopus's.
Instead of a snake's mouth and face, it had the face of an eagle mixed with an owl.
"An eaglesnake?" Conrad thought of a name then.
Noticed several more rocks to be thrown at him.
Conrad quickly destroyed all the stones that came to his range, and then he smirked.
"I am not sure how they are able to throw rocks at me, considering they do not have any arms."
"I can sense nen, but I do not sense how they are using it."
Conrad then targeted one of the eaglesnakes and then noticed that a small rock levitated from the side of it and then was thrown at him again. After destroying the rock, Conrad vanished from his place and then landed on the wall of stones and quickly moved and then held the creature by its tail.
The creature was shocked; it constricted its muscles and tried to attack Conrad with its beak.
Conrad dodged right and then held the head of the creature with his empty hand and dropped the tail.
"Hmm..."
"Interesting creature." Conrad smiled as he looked at the eyes of the snake.
The physical power of Conrad at this stage was more than capable of pushing one hundred to one hundred fifty tons.
A small nan using a snake, even if its length and weight were tripled, would not have any physical capability to leave and escape from his hands.
Conrad then looked at the several more rocks thrown at him and then just used some of his nen; rocks, after hitting his body, just crumbled down and dropped below.
"The speed of rocks is great, and the rocks themselves are hard enough to destroy a small car."
"Whenever they use their ability to throw rocks at me telekinetically, their eyes glow."
"I also noticed that the rocks are not random; they have a small amount of cold energy inside of them."
"Pretty similar to the Blue Ice Minion."
Conrad kept on looking at the snake and then said to himself.
"Having an ability similar to Pakunoda's that worked on all types of creatures, including plants, would be great," he said and then nodded.
"If these creatures are abiding some rules to have what they have, I have a pretty great theory."
"Considering there is some sort of a rule that going up is prohibited, I can set this as a condition for them, or they have this condition within their minds."
"The second condition would be that they can only throw the rocks that have blue ice minion qualities inside of them, cold qualities."
"The third is their lack of power compared to the physical capabilities of a three-meter snake."
"I am strong, but they are weak for their size even compared to most of the wild animals."
"In return for not leaving this area by not going up, only being capable of using blue ice minions to throw, and weakening themselves and their physical capability, they have the similar ability to use telekinesis."
Conrad let out a deep breath.
"It seems like there are more places like this that I don't know."
