Chapter 241 - Deep Point - Octopus Creature - Chapter 241

While Conrad ate, Dali thought more about how it could be possible about these "Nen" things that he spoke about; she knew that it would be not great to ask. As he already said, without her learning these first things, he is not going to speak about it.

"He already did a lot by giving this information to me; asking more about it after he said that he is not going to answer is just rude and not considerate of his thoughts." Dali thought.

Conrad ate breakfast and then spoke.

"I should get going."

Dali nodded.

Conrad then left.

After leaving the hotel, Conrad started walking into the Deep Point. He first chose this place because he believed that it is easier for people to understand him and want to see this place and not be so guarded and suspicious.

If a tourist comes to their city, it is only natural that they would like to see Deep Point too.

Conrad reached the area after twenty minutes of truck driving; it was covered by ten meters of steel walls, and two small buildings kept their eyes on it and regulated it to some degree so that some people would not jump down from it.

If people want to commit suicide, they are welcome to do so, but they should not do it at Deep Point; it is bad business for the tourist attraction and may create problems that they do not want to deal with.

Conrad, before leaving the truck, prepared the "Nen Pulse Orb," and as he left the truck, the glass orb also slowly went far away from him.

He wanted to probe some of the part of the Deep Point using the White Death Orb.

After one and two minutes, he parted away from the truck and the group and jumped to the wall and kept his head hidden.

"This is big."

"Bigger than I thought it would be..." Conrad thought as he looked at the Deep Point.

Deep Point was a circular area; its length was more than one hundred meters, and it was complete blackness below.

"I wonder why they have not tried to explore it."

"At least some part of it."

"Some lights would be great." Conrad thought as he looked down. The more he looked, the more he felt something different.

"Weird..."

He thought, and then Orb flew down and started going on. Conrad understood that when he is using his "orb" to see around and discover some place, it is always better to use just only one orb.

Despite his point of mastery using two or three orbs not mattering, he felt that when he used one orb instead of all three, his capability to understand and sense the environments increased, and he was able to get more clear information from the area he was exploring.

"Pulse Orb is best in this kind of situation due to its pulse ability." Conrad thought, and then Orb continued.

Fifty meters deep.

Hundred meters deep.

Until now, Conrad could feel all the surroundings; it was nothing more than just rocks and emptiness; the deepness just continued.

"I will lose my control over the orb in one km range."

"It would be great if I found something before that range." Conrad murmured and then orb continued.

In twenty-five seconds, it came down to seven hundred meters.

At this point, Conrad noticed something; it was a plant-like matter, something unexpected.

"Seven hundred meters is not too deep for them not to explore."

"I wonder if they found something inside of this area but do not want to disclose it." Conrad thought.

The plan-matter was some sort of a darkish blue grass; it radiated a cold energy that was similar to what he felt from the Blue Ice Minion despite not being as powerful as those crystals.

"Now..."

"Little bit more."

Conrad commanded, and the Pulse Orb continued to go down. As the orb arrived at 950 meters of depth, Conrad activated its Pulse Ability.

A flash of nen particles, aura, hit all the walls from the orb, and Conrad inspected everything.

"More plants..."

"And a fucking animal, a beast of some sort."

Conrad was taken aback.

"An octopus-like creature, five meters in length, capable of breathing cold air and living in that environment..."

"Huge amount of those blue ice plants."

"The octopus creatures are several, at least three; they sensed my aura and looked directly at the orb for a moment."

"They also have similarities with blue ice minion and blue ice plants..."

"Dark blue in color."

Conrad did not know what to say or think.

He ordered Orb to come up, but something he did not expect happened.

One of the discovered octopuses pushed itself towards the deep emptiness, and as it was in the air, one of its tentacles hit the orb.

"Fuck!" said Conrad, and then he felt the connection between him and Orb was severed.

The orbs were easy to destroy, but the force needed was still the same as a bullet hitting an individual.

With a gentle swipe from that creature, his orb was destroyed.

"It understood that Orb is strange and not from the environment and destroyed it as it wanted to go away."

"But why have they not attacked when they were discovered by it in the first place?"

Conrad then touched his chin.

"Until now, I just ordered Orb to go down and explore."

"All the octopuses just watched it without acting, but the moment I gave the order of 'go up,' one of them did not like the order and attacked."

"Is this some sort of an environmental rule for the creatures of Deep Point?"

"We do not attack you if you are down, but if you want to leave, you shall be destroyed."

Conrad thought.

He then took a deep breath.

"I am sure there is also the natural cold energy they are giving off is involved."

"They may not attack any organic or inorganic beings that radiate that cold energy naturally, feeling that they belong to them instead of strangers."

"I need more research and testing."

"Those octopuses, if it comes to physical power, should be able to take on ordinary chimera ants with ease, and they should be capable of taking down any chimera ant below squadron level with no problem if they fight here without too much of nen involved."

"I wonder if that cold energy they radiate is some sort of life energy, nen of them."

"If they radiate it naturally, maybe all these creatures are natural transmuters and users of nen without knowing about it."

Conrad theorized but knew he needed more time to understand these things.
