After ending the call, Timothy Sterling dejectedly lowered his hand. He sat there, slumped and stunned, his eyes filled with sorrow.
"What's wrong?" Mrs. Sterling asked with concern.
Timothy Sterling swayed. "The police called to inform me that Joy Dalton was just murdered at the hospital..."
"What!" Mrs. Sterling was stunned, her mouth agape. Although she despised Joy Dalton and was waiting for her to be sentenced to death, hearing that she had suddenly been murdered was still an immense shock. "How could she have been killed? Weren't there police officers watching her at the hospital?"
"Someone disguised as a doctor snuck in and killed her..." Timothy Sterling's voice trembled, the police officer's words still ringing in his mind.
