A warm feeling spread through Cecilia Adler's heart. You could always tell if someone truly cared about you from the little things. Mr. and Mrs. Quincy were afraid the young couple would have a hard life, so from time to time, they would insist on giving them money for living expenses.
Lucas Lee, on the other hand, would only tell her not to cause trouble with her in-laws. Sometimes she really envied Ian Quincy. Even though he had suffered his own share of grievances, his parents had never let him want for anything, materially speaking.
That alone made them better than many parents.
She said, "It's enough. If we need more, we'll ask."
"Alright, then."
Cecilia Adler left. As she was passing through the main hall, a man approached her. "Hello, are you a new colleague? What's your name? What's your position here?"
"I'm not new," Cecilia Adler said. "Dad just brought me to get some money for living expenses."
Dad?
The man's face drained of color.
He scurried back to his seat.
