Cecilia Adler was still trying to be polite. "I'm afraid that's not convenient."
The man's smile vanished instantly. He demanded, "Then why did you help me out? Don't you have feelings for me? Coming on to me and then rejecting me, you fickle bitch!"
"Are you out of your mind?" Cecilia Adler cursed before striding away.
She hadn't taken more than a few steps when she heard a WHOOSH from behind her.
She ducked instinctively.
A brick landed right in front of her, shattering into two pieces.
The perpetrator was none other than the man who had just cursed at her.
And he had another one in his hand, winding up to throw it at her.
Cecilia Adler's temper flared, and she threw the book in her hand.
It hit the man square in the face.
In the instant the man flinched, Cecilia Adler was on him. She slapped him hard across the face twice, then snatched the brick from his hand and brought it down on his head.
She hit him so hard he clutched his head and tried to run for his life.
