Rorschach's ray shot out, aimed straight at his face.
Gregory's face instantly exploded again, the blast even wider than the one from Feuerbach's spell.
For a brief frame, his entire face reverted to its original high-bridged nose and deep-set eyes. The moment the ray ended, the soft human tissues erupted into a spray of blood mist.
But its tenacity still exceeded Rorschach's expectations. After the soft tissue blasted away, stark white bone was visible—a pure human skull, restored by the ray.
A bone-chilling wail escaped from the spiracles on Gregory's body as its fly-like wings trembled at a high frequency. The agony conveyed by the sound was so palpable that even the other monsters felt it, and they began to shrink back into the spatial rifts.
Soon, the human skull split open from the center of the brow. The bone fragments flipped outward, revealing countless bone spurs that had grown inside the skull—a scalp-numbing sight.
