"My goodness –Moonie!"
I scolded as she scrambled off the cookie dough I left on the counter.
Glancing at it, I could see her paw marks on them and just sighed out loudly.
Scraping out the sides her paws were on, I immediately shaped the cookie with my cookie cutter and put them in the oven.
Making sure my alarm for 40 minutes was on.
It's been a week since I've been discharged from the hospital.
I was much better and so was able to make up my mind about leaving my old apartment.
I went through that conversation with Honey and we both thought that it was for the best.
After a week of searching, I was able to find a house no longer an apartment and paid for it.
Honey agreed though it was far from my workplace, I might even end up resigning if I have to.
Even though Noel might be locked up, it doesn't warrant me not to be on my toes.
Honey left a while ago to purchase some homely stuff that would make me feel more at home in my new house.
She'd been blaming herself for what happened to me which I totally disagreed on.
But as stubborn as she was, she decided to handle all the expenses of me moving in here.
As she wasn't around I just decided to whip up some house warming cookies to make it smell homely.
"Meow." Moonie called out, wrapping her tail around my foot.
"Oh well", taking out a jug of milk, I poured some in her bowl and offered it to her to which she happily accepted.
Thank goodness she's quite healed now.
When I first saw her at the vet, I couldn't control my tears as her hands were wrapped in bandages.
But now, I can clearly see how fine she is.
Slumping down on the couch, I put on the television to watch some news and see what exactly is happening since I hadn't touched or watched any screen for a while now.
Nothing much going on I guess.
Toning in to some Netflix, I put on a show that kinda looked interesting to me…hopefully it's as good as it looks.
Not quite long after into the movie, Honey barges in with some groceries and kitchen items.
"My goodness, I guess it's all done. Wow." She groaned, placing everything on the dining table while I helped out.
"Wait..what's burning?"
Oh my gosh!!
The cookies.
Rushing into the kitchen I quickly put off the oven and opened it.
The smell of almost burnt cookies with through my nose eliciting a choked cough out of me.
"Girl what happened? Oh…the cookies still look nice though." Honey came to my side and helped me bring out the oven tray.
She was kinda right but precious cookies looked hard now.
I sighed with a pout on my face.
"Kira it looks okay, the cookies are really nice and would actually go well with warm milk." She suggested after taking a bite of the still hot cookies.
That would actually not be a bad idea.
Heating up some milk, I added some cocoa and a tiny bit of sugar and everything was done.
Taking a sip of my warm chocolate milk, I sat on the couch beside Honey as she was focused on the show.
Moonie was also
enjoying her warm milk with crushed cookies.
I felt at peace.

It was already night and Honey had gone back home.
Her parents needed her, she promised to come back the next day before she left.
I might call Ben and explain to him whi I haven't come back to work and maybe resign.
I sighed softly as I climbed my bed after having a nice long shower.
The bed was so comfortable that I didn't even realize that Moonie had also climbed in with me.
I haven't bought any pet bed yet an she hasn't had any problem since but for now she finds comfort besides me.
I smiled as she curled herself on top my back – her best spot to sleep in.
The moonlight streamed in my room giving it a soft warm glow to it.
Contented, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
**
My phone notification startled me as I opened my eyes, groaning I checked the time.
4:15am
Who texts by this time, I hope it's not Honey.
'Enjoy your sleep now .
Cuddle your pet and have fun.
Just know this won't last for long.
Just know that I'm watching your every move.
My phone slipped from my hands hitting the floor.
Goosebumps rose on my skin as my palms became sweaty.
I could hear the heavy beats of my heart as my throat curled up with slime.
Rushing to the bathroom, I threw up everything I ate and glanced at myself at the mirror.
The horror in my eyes were evident as I held myself together.
Slowly I walked back to my room, looked everywhere but saw nothing.
Climbing into my bed, I held Moonie who was still asleep and stared into nothing.
What's going on?
A small creak at my window snapped me back to reality as I glanced towards it.
What I saw next made my blood curl.
