And Asgard trembled as brother once again stood against brother.
Loki struck first—blades flashing in twin arcs of green light. Thor met him head-on, Mjolnir intercepting the daggers in a burst of sparks. The impact echoed through the throne room like a cannon blast.
Illusions multiplied again—five, ten, twenty Lokis circling, striking from impossible angles. But this time Thor did not lash out blindly.
He closed his eyes.
Lightning pulsed outward from him in a controlled wave—spreading out like net around him.
The illusions shattered instantly.
The real Loki staggered back as Thor surged forward, catching his brother's wrist mid-strike. With a twist, he disarmed him. One dagger clattered across the golden floor.
"Enough!" Thor roared in rage as he looked at his brother.
He summoned a concentrated bolt of lightning that struck the ground beside Loki, forcing him to his knees. The shockwave cracked the marble beneath them.
Thor placed Mjolnir against Loki's chest—not crushing, but immovable.
"It does not have to be this way," Thor said, breathing heavily. "You are my brother."
Loki looked up at him—eyes burning, pride wounded deeper than flesh.
"You pity me," Loki spat.
Thor hesitated.
That was enough.
In a flash of green light, Loki dissolved into mist.
Thor spun—
—but Loki had already fled.
The Observatory – Bifrost Chamber
Heimdall stood at his post when Loki stormed in, cloak swirling behind him.
"My prince," Heimdall said cautiously.
"Open the Bifrost," Loki commanded.
"For what purpose?"
Loki's eyes burned with manic resolve.
"To end a war before it begins."
Before Heimdall could react, Loki struck him with a surge of sorcery, freezing him in crystalline energy long enough to seize control of the mechanism.
The Bifrost activated.
A colossal beam of prismatic energy erupted from Asgard's edge—piercing into the void.
Its target—
Jotunheim.
The realm of the Frost Giants.
On the distant world of ice and storm, the beam struck the surface and began tearing through glaciers and mountains alike. The very crust of the realm cracked under the strain.
Back in the observatory, Loki stood before the blazing bridge, eyes wild.
"Only I am suited to rule Asgard!" he shouted over the roaring energy. "I will prove it! I will end the threat once and for all!"
Thor burst into the chamber moments later.
"Loki! Stop this madness!"
The energy intensified. On Jotunheim, entire regions began collapsing into chasms of molten fracture beneath the Bifrost's relentless power.
Thor stared in horror.
"You would commit genocide to prove yourself worthy?"
Loki's voice trembled—not with weakness, but desperation.
"I am ending Father's greatest failure!" Loki shouted.
Thor stepped toward him carefully. "You are becoming the very monster you claim to fight."
"A king has to make difficult choices," Loki replied coldly.
Thor looked at him… then at the blazing stream of the Bifrost, which continued to tear into Jotunheim.
"Sorry, Jane," he whispered.
Then he lifted Mjolnir high above his head and brought it down with all his might against the Rainbow Bridge.
The impact sent a shockwave across the observatory.
A massive crack splintered through the crystalline structure of the bridge.
Loki's eyes widened. "What are you doing?!"
Thor struck again.
Lightning surged from the hammer into the heart of the Bifrost. The once-pristine structure fractured further, glowing uncontrollably as its energy destabilized.
"Stop that this instant!" Loki shouted but Thor didn't heard him
" You will not be able to meet Jane again!" Loki said trying to stop him.
Thor raised Mjolnir one final time.
"If destroying this bridge is the only way to save a world—" he said firmly, "—then so be it!"
He brought the hammer down with a thunderous roar.
The Bifrost shattered.
The beam connecting to Jotunheim snapped violently, exploding outward in a blinding eruption of cosmic energy. The bridge beneath their feet collapsed into fragments of radiant crystal, falling into the void below.
The observatory trembled.
Without the stabilizing force of the bridge, the platform began to break apart.
Loki stumbled as the ground gave way beneath him.
For a split second, fear replaced arrogance in his eyes.
The broken edge crumbled—
And Loki fell.
Thor reacted instantly, lunging forward and grabbing Loki by the wrist just before he disappeared into the abyss.
The void of space churned below them.
Thor strained, muscles tightening as he held onto his brother.
"Let go," Loki said quietly.
"No!" Thor roared. "I will not lose you!"
Above them, a sudden surge of golden light filled the darkness.
A spear of radiant energy descended—
And Odin appeared, gripping Gungnir as he anchored himself to the observatory's remains.
With his free hand, Odin grasped Thor's arm, preventing them both from falling.
"Enough both of you." Odin commanded, his voice echoing like distant thunder.
The three of them hung suspended over infinity.
Loki looked up at his father.
"I could have done it," Loki said, his voice trembling. "I could have made you proud."
Odin's expression was heavy with sorrow.
"You are my son," he said. "And I am proud of you."
For a moment—
Loki's composure broke.
Tears welled in his eyes.
But doubt, pain, and pride twisted together.
"I never wanted the throne…" he whispered. "I only ever wanted to be your equal."
His grip loosened.
Thor's eyes widened. "Loki—!"
Loki let go.
He fell into the endless abyss below, swallowed by darkness.
"NO!" Thor screamed.
Odin pulled Thor up onto the broken edge of the observatory.
Silence followed.
The shattered remnants of the Bifrost drifted in space.
"I let him go, Father," Thor said quietly, staring into the abyss where Loki had vanished.
"It was not your fault," Odin replied, his voice heavy with regret. "I failed to see the jealousy and pain that were building within him."
Thor remained silent, guilt weighing on his expression.
Odin rested a hand on his son's shoulder. "Come. Let us return."
Thor nodded.
Together, they left the broken observatory and made their way back to the palace.
When Frigga heard what had happened, the strength left her posture.
"He is lost?" she whispered.
Thor lowered his head.
Odin did not speak immediately. His silence was answer enough.
Frigga's composure broke, grief overtaking her as tears fell freely. "My son…" she breathed.
Thor stepped forward. "Mother, I tried—"
"I know," she said softly, placing a trembling hand against his cheek. "You have always tried."
