Once Aurora realized there was absolutely no chance of convincing Reis to put her down, she simply gave up.
Not because she forgave him. Far from it. She just knew arguing with a stubborn fox who had already made up his mind was completely pointless. So she stopped struggling altogether.
She merely folded her arms beneath him as much as her awkward position allowed and silently endured the humiliation while he casually carried her over his shoulder through nearly half of the Wolf Tribe.
Everywhere they passed, people looked. Some blinked in surprise, some smiled knowingly, and several younger females couldn't stop giggling behind their hands. Even a few older beastmen chuckled quietly before pretending to become very interested in whatever work they had been doing.
