The walk back to her cave was quiet.
For once, Aurora didn't feel like thinking about plans, inventions, lessons, or the countless problems waiting for her tomorrow. The entire confrontation with Lyria had drained her mentally. All she wanted now was to lie down on her stone bed, close her eyes, and sleep until morning.
Unfortunately, the moment she stepped inside her cave, she became aware of another problem.
Asher.
Aurora glanced over her shoulder. The Alpha wolf had followed her the entire way back, yet now that they had reached her cave, he stood motionless near the entrance.
He wasn't leaving, but he wasn't entering either.
The sight made Aurora pause. After a moment, she walked over to her stone bed and sat down. The warm hides felt comfortable after the exhausting night. Resting one elbow on her knee, she turned her head and studied the massive wolf beastman standing at her entrance.
