Aurora felt genuine disbelief at herself.
Since when did she owe either of these men any sort of explanations?
She was not anyone's wife. Not Asher's, nor Kellen's. And she definitely wasn't some female needing permission to speak with another male.
The realization made embarrassment and irritation rise simultaneously inside her chest.
She immediately straightened her posture and glared at both men fiercely. "Why am I even explaining this to you two?" she demanded sharply. "Who I meet or what scent is on me is none of your business."
Her sharp words made both men stiffen instantly.
For a brief moment, silence settled heavily around them. Kellen and Asher both stared at her without speaking, and then, strangely enough, they exchanged a quick look with each other. It was brief, barely lasting a second, but Aurora still caught it clearly. No words were spoken aloud, yet something silently passed between the two beastmen.
